You can destroy stone and ore you can't mine with your pick using bombs or dynamite. Bombs can be bought cheaply (5 silver) once the bomb merchant moves in.

I love this game. I hope we are allowed to keep a Vita thread as I don't check the main boards.

I managed to get a gold broadsword and gold pick last night, then carried out a few upgrades to my house, adding a toilet (the poor bastards had been using the forest outside!) and an extra room with candy walls and a various colours of stained glass window, along with a roof terrace :D

Is there any way to pull the camera out to take a photo of what you have built or is it a case of taking multiple photos and merging them together?

It should say on the game's description, but likely until Wednesday.

So I caved and bought it. My flight is tomorrow and now have the vita ridiculously stocked to the gills. Sure, I'm going away for a month but there's easily a year's worth of games on it I'm sure, between Plus games, the 10-game-pack and the games I bought.

I seem to prefer buying games than actually playing them.

Terraria is probably the only game you will play once you get into it!

Found a new stone this morning - demon-something. Glad I has my shiny new Gold Pick with me.

Looking forward to getting back 'home' to see what I can make with it :)

@andyc1980 so it's so bad it's put you off gaming altogether? Perfect :-)

I'm ubergine on PSN if anyone wants to add me. I'm not sure how well it would work online, me being on the other side of the planet and all.

Probably going to be full up with family Christmas malarkey for weeks anyway.

I told myself I wasn't going to buy this since I already had it on 360 but it makes so much more sense on the vita. I spent literally the entire of the first day of my holiday playing it yesterday.

    And it was worth it.

I'll have to add some of you chaps and see what it's like in the multiplayer at some point since I've only ever played it solo. Especially when it comes to giving that bugger Skeletron a good kicking!

I'm Zombie-Zombie on PSN by the way.

I collected meteorite that fell from the sky yesterday :D I made the axe-hammer and, stupidly, a piece of armour rather than the sword!

    I also have depth-meter and clock :D

The goblin army also attacked my house and killed most of the residents - by the time I had fought them off the place was absolutely wrecked. It took a good 10 minutes repairing the damage!

Is it possible to get new doors? The attacking goblins smashed their way through my meagre defenses. I've added a couple of arrow traps now though that I liberated from around the map - do these need anything special to work?

Murbs - I wouldn't buy it. It'll totally dominate everything you play for weeks (months?), so your backlog will just continue to grow.

I've played it as much as I possibly can since getting it last week, and am absolutely loving it. It's everything I hoped it would be and much more.

You can design your NPC house so that most if the rooms are off the ground, which will hamper the attacking mobs. I usually make a tower that you access via a central shaft, rooms on either side, winds up looking a bit Eiffel Tower.

I always put the guide on the bottom though, so that he dies a lot.

In case anyone hadn't found it yet , there's a tab where you can assign NPC's to specific valid rooms you have made. If you leave the area and return (or exit and reload) they should then be in the rooms you assigned. If it happens to be a tower with only doors in the centre, then the stupid bastards aren't likely to go wandering the wilderness or open all the doors at night.

It's easy to protect doors. Just place a block on the inside, and nothing can come in (maybe slimes, if anything).

@ubergine Wait, so you can just build the one house with loads of valid rooms? I though you had to do a separate house for each resident!

The rooms thing seems a bit strange, I've made 4 houses so far with three residence but the house doesn't appear on that menu until someone moves in.

    For the emperor!

I survived the first night after making two basic shelters next to each other. Stupidly, I'd dug a hollow for them but it means that all the zombies congregated in the middle of the hole, between the shelters and I couldn't get out of the door.

I don't suppose it was the conventional way to deal with them, but I managed to dig the zombies out from underneath and built a wooden bunker around them. I was getting concerned that they would never disappear but they vanished at the next night cycle.

Then I just did some aimless digging and got bored. Am I doing it wrong?
