A bit of a weird one, but so good.

Surely got to be some Knife Party fans here, if not at least pendulum and they have planty of dubstep tunes.

I hate 90% of it. The nosebleed stuff can fuck off. However there are a few subtler bits of music that use dubstep that I really like. YouTube Emika. I like that stuff

Give it a chance, like others above said, it's not all brostep like Skrillex.

Dubstep ain't normally my cup of tea, but I like stuff that approaches it, and even some examples of the genre itself. Not my thing for the main part, and some of it is atrocious, some can be great, but see also (for example): metal.

It's one of the better examples. Still don't like it though.

Don't mind Knife Party on occasion, but they're definitely on the more grating end of wubwub.

That Sail mix is nice, but I can't avoid picturing this every time I hear it:

Pretty Lights approaches dubstep at points too, and is great.

Admittedly I didn't give them all a full listen, but I didn't hate the second link. Bit more hip-hoppy in terms of beat and wasn't too "fake" sounding.

First link turned me straight-off with an auto-tuned female voice. Can't be dealing with that.

Third and final links both a bit wub wub wubby and again, that kind of really obviously machine generated sound that just turns me off.

But yeah, like the second one, so fair enough. Discovering that I don't utterly despite all dubstep as I originally suspected.

thing is it's so pervasive and fragmented now that it can cover such a uge range of sounds.

I tend to prefer what's labelled as drumstep as a kind of intemediary between dnb and edm, not so keen on the stuff that just sounds like someone dying on a keyboard.

    this sorta thing;

You all realise dubstep sounded nothing like anything in this thread until 2009, at which point it became something really shit?

nope don't like it either, just a white noise with no discernible difference between tracks, Ideal for a shit DJ is my guess, Also seen those who dance to it with stupid baggy trousers doing the running man and Melbourne shuffle just before they probably stab you in some seedy shithole club. Then again I'm in my 40's so a lot of modern trends just go over my head these days.

Everyone's got something. I like at least one or two tracks of everything - at least I did, until I met 'R+B', which unlike Rhythm and Blues I find complete and utter shit. Never heard a single R+B track I liked, it's all shit to me, which is probably my loss.

Quite like the occasional bit of dubstep. In moderation.

Most dubstep sounds like robots having sex to me, but I'll give all the videos in this thread a go. Liked the Burial track :)

Would it have been less confrontational if I'd put something passive aggressive like "hate to be that guy" at the start of my post?

I guessed you were linking to a thread you'd started before I clicked on it btw. Sorry to be that guy...
