    It's back!

    July 4th - 6th.

    Announced so far:

    Iron Maiden
    Metallica

Tickets start at an eye watering 180 each.

Got mine booked already. Which probably makes me a bit mental.

I booked mine immediately after hearing the announcement.

I think thats just how much festivals cost these days!

Scarily my ipod was on random and and played a Maiden song and a metallica song immediately before they announced them.

I expected it to be around that mark, but it's a lot to put down on the strength of two bands. Iron Maiden are awesome though.

I missed them at Download last year due to a a wedding and went all the way to Belgium to see them instead. I am a pretty big fan.

Will be good to see them over here though hopefully with my old festival crew!

The third headliner could be Axl Rose playing 30 seconds to mars' greatest hits on an accoustic guitar for all I care!

Would pay it for Maiden, they're still killers (ho ho!) live, Metallica not so much. Would it kill Lars to even feign some interest in playing his own fucking songs correctly?

Ordered my ticket last week !

Apparently tommorow announcement is Deftones, reel big fish, alestorm, frank turner, and a few others

The line up is actually brilliant, I'm a massive fan of alternating the main and second stages so you don't miss anything.

Day 1 is the least exciting for me, but really picks up (Anthrax, Prodigy, 65daysofstatic playing a late set...)

Yep third stage on the Friday playing the whole of Among the Living (yes!!!) then main stage on Saturday.

Love Anthrax so I'm certainly not complaining!

Going down Thursday. But detouring to Hyde Park Friday. Not missing Faith No More (*Alan Partridge "I'm not driving a Mini Metro."). Then coming back after Sabbath.

Bit miffed that Mastodon get 45 mins, 3rd from top. When in 2011, they got an hour, 4th from top, wtf?

Ahh don't remind me of the Sabbath /FNM gig. Clashing that with Sonisphere has to be the single worst booking in history.

Made worse by the fact that loads of people have gotten tickets for 2.50!

No need to pack, it's a 5 minute drive. All the joys of the festival, but with all the comforts of home.

@Defecationqueen there was some kind of internal fuck up where a special friends and family offer got released to the general public and spread like wildfire over social media. The promoters then announced that they would honour those tickets!

Could be worse. You could have already booked Rock Werchter tickets and missed Sonisphere and Sabbath...

I'm a bit gutted to be missing Faith No More as well. That was the worst bit about the 2012 cancellation. FNM were booked to play.

Saw them in 97, they split up 5 months later :(

Thought about doing that myself. But it's just too much effort :) Hopefully some of the guys on that bill might make a surprise appearance at soni.

Leaving about 6am on thursday. Long drive ...well long drive for the person who is driving from cornwall.
