What game or games did you intend on playing this current generation, but for whatever reason you didn't and doubt you ever will?

Perhaps you will be selling your consoles or just don't have the money. In my case I have lost the desire with a couple of them, many of which I intended on getting day one but moved onto other new releases.

I realize PC gamers don't really have this problem (except with console exclusives, but most don't care for them anyway), and backwards compatibility could be a viable option for some, but you'd still have to go buy the game and maybe shiny next gen games will kill the will do so.

For me, I am selling my Xbox 360 soon, and my PS3 is broken. My PC isn't really that capable.

Maybe it is made worse by me not being the kind of gamer who dips into a backlog.

The Last of Us: PS3 broke.

Bioshock Infinite: I just didn't have the money and don't see myself going back now.

There are more, but just an example of two pretty massive releases that I am surprisingly fine with leaving in the current gen dust.

Demon Souls - could only afford 1 console - got the 360. No regrets, but after playing Dark Souls to death, I'd love to have a play of Demon.

Luckily, DS2 isn't too far off.

Portal 2. I love Portal and know how good this will be but, realistically, I probably won't get round to it.

Also Mirror's Edge which I really wanted to pop up in the Games with Gold campaign.

Dark Souls. Thought about it many times, never did. Something/someone always just put me off.

Dragons Dogma for me. I think I'd love it, but just no time left to play it.

Probably Skyrim. I adore Oblivion to bits, so Skyrim is right up my street, but there's just so much to Oblivion that I doubt I'll ever be happy enough with how much I've done in that. Tamriel needs me! I still go back to that thinking I'll do just one more quest or explore one more dungeon, then end up buying furniture for my house instead. Barely touched Shivering Isles too.

To many to list. Love skyrim, but I have barely scratched the surface. GTA 5 is in the box now!

I finished Oblivion, Skyrim and Fallout 3, but I know I won't have the time to invest in New Vegas at this stage.

    Last of Us

My ps3 got the YLOD, I have fixed it with the heat gun method, and it is currently working but I don't want to invest the time it if it's going to die before I finish it.

Far too many, just not enough time.

Mass Effect 2/3, Mirror's Edge, HL2, AC Brotherhood, Arkham City, Journey, Ico/SotC, Far Cry 3, Okami HD, Ni No Kuni, Limbo, Dishonoured, Bayonetta, Dead Space, Brothers, Infamous, Fez, probably a million others.

I own most of that lot too, even more tragically.

Almost every popular release, but the ones that stand out at the moment, CoD and BF games, Dead Space, Gears of war, Beyond TS, Dishonoured, many many more, like Zomoniac I own all of them too. :/

I got my PS3 to play sequels to my favourite Gamecube games :

Resident Evil 4, and I played RE5 (not RE6) and it was very average

then Beyond Good & Evil - and the sequel hasn't been released...so thats the game I wanted to play this gen, but never will : Beyond Good & Evil 2

This thread is making me feel very regretful. Beyond is another I would love to play if my PS3/wallet was up to scratch.

I know we can't have it all :)

My PS3 died in the Last of Us too, bought another just to play the rest. Though I also have the majority of my games collection on the PS3 too so figured I'd need one eventually.

God of War Ascension is one that I planned to get once cheap but have lost impetus, same with Dead Space 3.

I got through more before LoveFilm fucked off. I had a list filled with 8 hour story games I just wanted to blaze through and send back, and because they had to go back it made me actually play them. Now having to part with actual money then mess around with trade-in plus a lack of time pressure to get on with it has stopped me playing anything except stuff I have to have on day 1.

The Games of the Generation is a good tool for reminding myself what I have missed out on so far.

    Portal: Played and completed

    RDR: Played and completed

Journey: Never played, never will :(

    2 outta 3 ain't bad.

Yeah, I couldn't afford to buy a brand new slim back in 2010, so with a little financial help from my big brother, we sharely bought a factory re-conditioned fat, only for Heavy Rain.
However later the likes of Last Of Us proved worthy too.
Thanks :). Currently saving for a PS4, hopefully that will take the sting away.

The Arkham games (minus maybe one of them), Fallout: New Vegas, Ni No Kuni, the current gen Tales RPGs, Gran Turismo 5 or 6, Red Dead Redemption.

Probably loads more I can't think of right now. I've narrowed my backlog down to about 6 games I absolutely must play through before I leave this gen, and they leave no time for the above.

I have no regrets I've played every game I wanted to on this generation of consoles.

Kingdoms of Amalur - reckon I'd absolutely love it, but always something else takes priority over it and then when there is a gap I don't think I'd have time to get through it before whatever else is coming out.

Think otherwise I've probably played everything I want to...

Pretty much any of the first or second party titles for the 360 that didn't have a demo for silver customers. I tried or watched various games at friend's houses but never got the opportunity (while I owned a 360) to feel they warranted a full play and purchase.

KZ2 and Resistance 3 are ones I still need to get, but Kz2 needs a sharpshooter patch to tip the balance, and RS3 could really do with a button config to use the sharpshooter like KZ3. LBP Karting is probably another.
