If anyone on the EU servers is interested in some occasional Infernal Machine key farming, add Unravel 2469. I'm running a 120k DPS Demon Hunter (and 34k health glass cannon) on MP3.

Anyone still play this? Considering how hotly anticipated, and well reviewed it was, it appears to have died on its arse.

    I still dabble.

It is shocking to see stuff like that tbh.

For those who are still interested, patch 1.0.7 is now out in the Americas, and hopefully soon in Europe.

    Patch notes:

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/8608455/patch-107-now-live-2-12-2013

I'll be having a bash at PvP and PUG Monster Power games for definite.

I mean, it's good that they are sort of moving to make some of the top items BoE but really i don't tihnk they can realy cage the beast now, nor tihnk they entirely want to.

time to harp on about Path of Exile again...

If DŁ had adopted a barter, goldless economy like POe and D2 before it they could still have had an Ah but wit hpeople bartering ingame items, thing is there isn't really anytihng to barter with in D3 asit stands :-/

I can't believe they didn't suss that this would be an issue before they even released the game.

The appeal of Diablo was finding awesome loot. Buying it just feels like a kind of cheating to me. I tried not to touch it but the loot drops were so infrequent when the game launched that I got to a point where I had to use it to progress any further.

I've only ever used the AH once and that was just to buy some gems (on the gold AH, not the RMAH - I refuse to even acknowledge the latter exists). I'm still playing on and off and I haven't once been tempted to buy gear, I just know it would instantly kill the appeal of the game for me so I ignore it.

Just because it's easy to ignore doesn't mean it wasn't a very stupid idea though.

Got back into this recently. At launch I started out by completing Normal with all chars. It had gotten fairly tedious by the fifth run through and ended up leaving it for months.

Got a wizard to 60 in the last couple of weeks though and currently working through Inferno - it's good fun. I like the paragon system and the Monster Power option, and the new crafting recipes are a nice touch too.

Looking forward to the expansion, any details confirmed yet?

We are highly unlikely to see an expansion this year to be honest. They probably will be announcing it at this years Blizzcon which is later this year in November so chances are the expansion will be next year sometime.

They could just announce it earlier than November like any other company. But they are Blizzard and take ages to do anything, so yeah... next year.

In other news, I thought about getting back into this again. But my authenticator got wiped when I did a factory reset of my phone... so I assume I have to get it removed.

The process requires me to provide a copy of government-issued ID to Blizzard? What. I guess the insane extra security is one further negative of the RMAH.
  • Deleted user 10 March 2013 15:22:40
If you followed the instructions when you set up the authenticator you'll still have your numbers to reset it and confirm your identity.

The ID checks are nothing to do with the RMAH.

Instructions?!? Who in this modern day and age reads instructions? :p

Anyway, all sorted now. Not a big deal. It's just that I've never had to provide that stuff to a gaming company before, much less use an authenticator. Was a bit weird.

Ive been dabbling in this again today. Finally finished Hell and am now working my way slowly through Inferno.

I try to avoid the AH (never set foot near the RMAH. 1 thing that helped me a lot was upgrading my weapon to something decent. It made everything much easier and I`m happy to craft (some) stuff and wait for drops most of the time.

Temptation to buy stuff for gold is high though......

I`ll probably pop in and out to this as I`m a bit bored of most gaming atm. If anyone else wants to play send me pm for my realid thingy.

I'm still playing if anyone cares. I try to avoid public mp at the mo; almost always full of swirling Barbarians and Laser-beam wizards that cut through everything in a matter of seconds and leave me with nothing to do.

Happy to level other characters and plod along with anyone a little more casual.

Xbox video, looks awesome but I'm very concerned re controls. I would of assumed left stick move, right stick aim. It sounds like its left stick both move and aim with right stick just for rolling.

Otherwise it looks great, 100% buying day one then trading two weeks later for Gta.

I think it looks pretty good. The controls were always going to feel weird anyway. Diablo on a controller? Never would have thought it. Really want it regardless however.

I still dabble on the pc version. Not sure how much mileage an xbox version would get.

Probably pick it up in a few months for cheapness just to have it I guess.

@graysonavich heh, it was a sight a the post above me which was stating they were going to try it and pass it on after 2 weeks. I guess that's fair enough when you look at what D3 turned out ot be but a shame when the essence of ARPGs is supposed to be a long progression ona power curve.

I'd be amazed if the control scheme wasn't very similar to torchlights.

the fact remains however that the loot scaling and decisions still look abysmal. at least the rework will mean games are mostly self-found loot and do away with the AH.

frankly though a substantial systems and items overhaul is needed before i look at it no matter how fun the combat, which is the one thing they really did get right.
  • Deleted user 8 August 2013 16:15:01
Only due to money, can't justify 40. Cost me 10 when get 30 back from cex within two weeks.

I'm very much looking forward to it, how many hours is it? I heard it is only six hours.

It's designed for repeat plays with multiple characters. You won't really get that much from it just playing it through once.

Ah ok heh, slightly less strange then I guess. And yeah Diablo is all about the long game. It's not something to rent and play over a weekend. Shame on that guy!
