    My review - buy it!

    I played the demo on 360 but bought the full thing on Steam. Played an hour or two of the career mode and most importantly the handling has a lovely weight to it with really nice feedback (I'm using the Logitech G27). Still on fwd cars and I'm impressed how well the characteristics of fwd is conveyed by the game. Use the handbrake to make the rear step out then straighten out by using the throttle.

    Presentation is a step up from WRC3. You now join rally teams and work your way up through Junior, WRC3, WRC2 before getting to the full WRC. Not sure if it has any of the other classes (80s, 90s etc) like the previous game though.

    Seems to me that this series has a lot of love poured in to it by the developer. It deserves to get some decent sales.

    @LeSpank
    Playing the vita version is think the same as above great game. Full career mode on vita no missing rallies. Having fun now. Yet to try online. Obviously graphics aren't as good as 360 or ps3 but it is a vita. Plays the same that is the main thing.
  • Deleted user 25 October 2013 21:47:04
    I disagree that it plays the same. The handling and physics in WRC3 on the 360 are a clear step up from the Vita version.

    Though that could just be the game, as I haven't played WRC4 on home consoles, it's possible they simplified the handling and physics on all machines.

    So my Vita version of 3 isn't a full game?

    @steveb07
    Yeah it was 6 rallies then they added another 3, but no career mode or anything like that. Graphics are better and handling is better, only my opinion, it was good in 3 but just didn't quite sit right with me. Does now. Enjoying career mode at the moment.

    Good to know. You got me back into playing WRC3 last night! Will probably continue tonight as well.
    I'll probably pick up 4 in a sale or something.

    Yeah I am really enjoying it as well. As I said that review is spot on. I got it on the vita as I have more time while the wife watches the soaps.

    A big improvement on WRC3 - though I quite enjoyed that. Plenty of content, better environments and worth the 30 I paid for it.

    Do things get a lot more challenging? I'm upI to the 2nd tier championship now and enjoying the driving, but keep winning by a mile.
    Anyone tried online yet?
    Also... This game loves to throw loads of early trophies at you doesn't it?

    I've noticed that trend with a lot of games lately (don't have this though) rather than being evenly spread over the whole experience.

    Play WRC for an hour, 30% trophies.
    Complete The Last of Us, 4% trophies!

    Hmmm!

    Played the demo all morning and really enjoyed mastering the two stages ( particularly not hitting this same tree in Stage 1 which I gravitated to in the first 4 or 5 attempts...)

    I've no interest in rallying per se but the twitchy handling of the car in WRC4 reminded me of an old Rally Championship game that I got free with a PC in about 95 ( The Subaru and Megane heavily featured ). I loved that game.

    Couldn't seem to switch any ghost cars on, is that available in other modes only?

    Definitely thinking of a purchase, given the content available.

    Well mine is set at 5. But it can go up to ten. You need to do it in the settings before you start. Between 1 and 10.mine is set at 5 as I say and it is perfect. Loving it. Hope everyone else is. Shame I can never get an online game going. No one ever on when I try.

    At the moment I have the difficulty set to 7 in my go at career, seems slightly to easy for me but I'm still getting used to the handling. So far it's an excellent game and it's nice to be rallying again.

    Also picked it up, from a HMV today, one that was reprieved from closure so I like to buy something now and again.

    Playing at "5" also but I have the stability assist on. Needed to get 6th place in Germany in career mode, drove pretty well and finished 5th. ( refuse to use the rewind feature ).

    A nice part of rallying is that if you've built up a lead over the designated rival driver for that rally, you can take less risks in the last stage.

    Enjoying it too. Makes me want to check out MotoGP 13 by the same dev.

    Just left the difficulty on whatever the default is for the moment, started the career and really loving it. Waited for a good rally game for a few years.
