It was a PC adventure horror type game. It had one feature where it would send text messages to your mobile and leave some scary messages on your answerphone as well. I remember this feature being a big thing at the time.

No I think it might have the word memento in the title, but not memento mori.

In Memoriam? Don't remember much about it other than my brother in law banging on about the message thing.

It was pretty cool at the time, searching through the internet for clues and getting fake emails, the puzzles and videos were pretty atmospheric and creepy at times

I tried it again a few years ago but the servers had shut down :(

Majestic was a great ARG too. Unfortunately it was abruptly shut down because of the 9/11 attacks

    Hijacked.

Naval simulator from the mid 90s, I can't remember if you controlled just an aircraft carrier, or supporting vessels too. You could launch planes from your (US, I think) carrier and even jump in to the cockpits and fly them yourself. When your carrier group was threatened a piece of well know dramatic classical music would kick in. Which I also don't know the name of! It all seemed very authentic at the time, so it wasn't anything fantastical like Carrier Command though I admit I've made it sound a lot like it!

    Any clues?

Was the music Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber? It's one of the popular pieces for war stuff.

I've got one.indy car racing game, the whole track was on the screen top down view. Four coloured indy cars and you had to pit and the pits were coloured squares. Amiga I believe but was probably released on other formats. I need this game again.

    Edit.. indy heat.

I know I'm late with the answer, but this sounds like Navy Strike. The main task was to launch flights around the carrier, but you could fly three of the planes yourself as well.

The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.
