NEW ACTION-PACKED EVENT SERIES “24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY” TAKES JACK BAUER TO ENGLAND FOR 12 ACTION-PACKED EPISODES

24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY Marks the First “24” Production to Film Abroad Since 2008 Telefilm “24: Redemption”

Twentieth Century Fox Television, Imagine Television and FOX are sending the production of 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY across the Atlantic to London for a thrilling international adventure, as the new tent-pole event series restarts the clock on the groundbreaking and Emmy Award-winning drama franchise starring Kiefer Sutherland. As previously announced, 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY will make its historic debut in the summer of 2014 on FOX.

“‘24’ has always had such a global sensibility,” said Sutherland, who also serves as an executive producer on the event series. “But to be able to tell this intense ‘24’-style story with the beauty of Europe’s history and architecture as the backdrop is going to be fascinating. Hopefully, by the time you’re finished watching an episode, you’ll feel like you’ve been there...on the edge of your seat.”

Co-showrunner and executive producer Evan Katz added, “We wanted the show’s return to be an event, and part of that was putting Jack in a very different context. Four years ago, we left Jack a fugitive from justice and we’re going to pick him up four years later in London.”

Co-showrunner and executive producer Manny Coto continued, “Jack is soon back on the run and it takes us into the streets of London and in places that break new ground for the show. We’ve shot in New York, Washington, Los Angeles and Cape Town -- but now we’re in London and Jack’s loose on the streets of Europe, hunted by and hunting bad guys.”

Originally premiering November 6, 2001, “24” was nominated for a total of 73 Emmy Awards, winning for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006. Over the course of eight seasons, and a two-hour telefilm, Sutherland garnered seven Emmy Award nominations and one win for Outstanding Lead Actor – Drama Series. While the series gained global recognition, Sutherland’s portrayal of the legendary character penetrated the American psyche like no other dramatic television character to become part of the cultural lexicon.

24 should have been dead and buried a long time ago.

... arguably, the first series was the best one and that was a shy over twelve years ago!

Jack Bauer would choke you with one those ellipses, before clubbing you to death with a smiley if he heard you.

    @StarchildHypocrethes

I liked the first series quite a lot though!

... just went overboard and even more overboard as the number of series increased.

You can gladly disagree, but that's how I feel (about 24).

I disagree with that, series 5 was superlative. Series 1 isn't far behind though.

Just after graduating, before finding a job, me and my housemate spent a week or two not doing much else but watch the first 4 seeries. I have fond memories of 24, at the time it was my favourite show and series 1 and 5 hold up extremely well, and 2, 3 and 4 aren't bad.

After series 5 though it went to shit, so I have mixed feelings about this.

You might be right because after series 6 I had no desire to go out of my way to see the african movie thing. So that must have killed it for me. Had been watching box-sets non-stop upto that point.

Season 6 is awful. Season 7 is better and I really enjoyed season 8.

Can't wait for the new season!

Personally I tend to think season 1,3, 4 and 5 were the best ones, followed by the second half of season 2 then seasons 8, 7 and finally season 6 as the worst.

Season 2 is a weird one the first half with the pointless time filler Kim storyline nearly ruins that series but once that's dropped about halfway through season 2 is absolutely fantastic.

If you skip the Kim bits Series 2 is actually pretty fast moving and intense.

Overtime I've come to appreaciate those Kim moments more, because they're so damn stupid.

But Kim's bits were the best part of the show!

Edit: I don't know what this is, but I like it.

It's a drama where, if you take out the "tent pole", the "tent" falls down.

Love 24. Sure it's been up and down over the years but it's always been the source of fantastic entertainment.

I can't help think this will be terrible though. No doubt London will be stereotyped in a way that it becomes difficult to stomach (see the latest Fast & Furious). Also compressing it in to 12 hours defies the point of the show. Are all the original writers on board? Any other original actors apart from Sutherland signed up for this?

I thought the idea was to allow time for travel. So its still 24 hours long but you don't see him sitting in an airplane for 6 hours.

I quite like the idea of it not being in real time to be honest it gets rid of the limit on how quickly/slowly you can develop the story which can ruin the pacing of the series. It also stops the writers having to put in crappy filler material to fill in the gaps while people are travelling see series 2 of 24 with the shitty Kim storyline as to how bad it can get.

While it does kinda ruin the whole point of the show it could in theory make this the best series of 24 made so long as the writing is good.

it stopped mattering that it was real time after the first series. All it meant was that every ad break you'd think "why did they all stand still for 2 minutes?

I lurk. If I've spoken to you, I'm either impassioned, or drunk.

Jack " Damn it Chloe, we're running out of time!"

Kim "Ahh, wild cats here too."

Is it all set in London? I though they were just filming a section of it there and it ended up back in L.A.?

I would like Bill Buchanan back.

No, I don't care that he's dead, make it happen. Almeada was dead too.
