    Anyone who cannot see the difference between Hollywood monsters and real-life mental illness isn't likely to change or gain any useful understanding. Closing down any reference to mental illness (hollywood or otherwise) isn't going to help understanding either, as it closes down discussion.

    Besides, where do you draw a line? Complex personality issues?

    I'm not talking about closing anything down. Yet again, all I'm saying is that in years to come these films are going to look a bit ignorant and dated in their portrayal of the mentally ill.

    Ok.

    I don't think the subject matter will ever overshadow a well made film. So, Psycho will last where so much else will be framed as a mere product of the time.
