Theathrhythm Curtain Call is all that jazz!
Pageof 6 First / Last
Wow. Was not expecting that. I've got the original and it's a great little game. Is it worth owning both though?

Details, details! I need details!!
The first game was awesome but I was pretty miffed when the iOS version for the Crystal Chronicles DLC.
Hopefully this is as good as the first one. If so I'll probably clock up another ninety hours!

There aren't any good songs left though, are there?

Put a good 50 hours into the first one so this is great news, although as elstoof said, can't be that many decent songs left...?

I was worried that the registration would be for a new iOS game, so thrilled it's on the 3DS.
Wonder if they'll have some non FF music in there (as everyone above has said, how much more FF music can be added?). Probably not, I suppose.
@santashi i thought that but other then kingdom hearts what other big franchises do they have with a music score that can carry across
expect to be shown up big time with my lack of square enix knowledge
Well, I see Ramza in the article (and also Zack) so it looks like they'll be including spin-offs in this one. If that's true, stuff like Antipyretic, Memory of Lightwaves and Final Journey will probably make it in this time. Also Final Fantasy XIV music is confirmed to be in, so let's pray for Good King Mog and Answers. Also many famous songs didn't make it into the original, even through DLC, including the Opera House song, Spinach Rag, Gau's Theme, Darryl's Theme and Locke's Theme from Final Fantasy VI; the Gold Saucer theme, Rufus's Marching song, the Temple of the Ancients, Motorcycle Escape from Shin-ra, Under the Rotting Pizza, Tifa's Theme, Cait Sith's Theme and Sephiroth's Theme from Final Fantasy VII; Fisherman's Horizon, Shuffle & Boogie, Silence & Motion, I Wanna Be a Lion, Waltz for the Moon, Galbadia Garden and Ami from Final Fantasy VIII; Vama Allo Flamenco, Rose of May, You're Not Alone, Daguerro and Frontier Village Dali from Final Fantasy IX, the list goes on and on.
The great thing about Final Fantasy is that there aren't just a couple dozens good songs to pick from.
Rose of May definitely needs to be in there, but I'd be happier if Crazy Motorcycle isn't!
I'll be hoping for The Price of Freedom from Crisis Core. Maybe The Burdened too, if it isn't too short.
Oh, and Full Speed Ahead from XIII-2 as well please.
First group of tracks.
Some of those are already in the first game (granted, some as DLC).
To be honest, i'm kinda hoping they put all of the tracks from the first game into the second. Especially the ones they picked out for VI, VII, and XI. Sometimes you just play them to listen to them. Amazing tracks.
It's certainly possible, considering they've said there will be over 200 tracks. I'd like that too, all the music in one place.
I like the fact that Zack's in it, as that'll no doubt mean some Crisis Core music will make it in (as I hoped would be the case with the original game's DLC).
Hopefully there'll be a decent few tracks from FFXIV too.

Never did manage to perfects in all the expert Tracks though (fucking battle at big bridge!)
Is it going to be FF focused again, or are they going to include more IPs? I seem to remember the lead designer of the first one saying he would love to see the series branch into other IPs with each installment.

And more news from the new issue of Famitsu:
-new multi-player mode (local only), which incorporates the game's new mode that plays like some sort of fusion of rhythm games and Puyo Puyo-like puzzle game vs. mode. This is called vs. battle (and from what it looks like might be accessible in singleplayer as well).
-it looks like all the tunes from the first game are in, plus 90 new ones (I'm guessing they might be including the DLC from the first game for free to get the 200+ number). Added games include: Final Fantasy XIV, Mystic Quest, Tactics, X-2, Advent Children, Crisis Core, Type-Zero, both Dissidias, and Lightning Returns
-this will be the last Theathrhythm based on Final Fantasy, but not only will they continue to release downloadable songs for it, but it seems they will support expanding it long term through downloadable stuff
-there are least 29 new characters, for a total of over 60 and 40 new enemies
-the sound it makes when you touch the screen can be changed to different FF sound effects (like the menu beep or cure sound) and button-only control has been added (how are they going to do field music I wonder?)
@darkmorgado I imagine there will be other Theatrythm games based on other series if this one sells well. The last one didn't do too badly for it's time, I don't think.
Last one did really well, IIRC.
Still though, "Curtain Call" sounds a bit final.

I liked the first game but didn't play it as much as I thought I would.

@darkmorgado It does, but the full title is Theatrythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call. It could just imply that it will be the last Theatrythm based on Final Fantasy music.
Gameplay trailer from Nintendo Direct.
Can't say I like that look of that battle mode, but time will tell.
I've never been excited for a music game before, but I love the original and this looks to be 4 times the size! I hope it isn't too long before it arrives in Europe!
Tracks from the first 7 Final Fantasy games.
Gameplay features (60+ Characters, 200+ Songs)
European Trailer confirming a 2014 release. Hurray for just me, apparently.

I'm probably picking this up on release the first was great and I used to live quite near Indieszero so it'd be nice to support them (though I used to live practically across the road from syn Sophia and I didn't buy any of the Style Savvy games...)
Edit: out this week in Japan in fact. That means it'll be accessible in a little over 24 hours on the eshop!

I really liked the first one, so I'll probably pick up the second, definitely if it has all the songs from the first included.

I'll be grabbing it too, the first one was lots of fun. Crisis core music guarantees my purchase.
@CosmicFuzz I think it has every song from the original, including all the DLC, too.
