Amazed this hasn't got its own thread.

Anyway, for those who already have it,there is a free update available for The Room that adds an extra chapter to the game.

Yeah I played the epilogue recently. Love this game. Makes great use of touch screen play.

    Can't wait for the sequel.

Is it OK on a mobile screen or does it need a bigger "pad" one?

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

Have they solved the loading glitch? I never got past the first chapter as it would just crash after trying to load the next bit...

Yes played it on my 4S and it was great.

Pretty sure I played through this a while back - it was mentioned in the Android App and Game Review thread.

Is it a bit like Myst and Traitors Gate?

    Not played either of those.
But it's a puzzle game based in a single room - you are unlocking an artefact by rotating it and interacting with it. Once you unlock the first one, you then find a second, possibly in a different room... (it's a while since I played)

It's a single puzzle box that keeps changing from level to level. *Really* enjoyed the first part and my daughter's gutted that I don't have a tablet or phone anymore as she's been dying to play the follow-up for ages :-)

    @Tonka

    Tom's review explains it well.

I really enjoyed this, shame it's so short. I look forward to getting round to playing the expansion.

The epilogue is about as difficult as the later puzzles in the original game. Loads of fun still.

I can't help they have missed a trick with the story. The game itself is incredibly atmospheric yet I found the story to be completely incoherent. Still it takes nothing away from the game. Great fun for the price.

@X201 I bought it (it was only 7SEK (<1GBP)) so silly to hesitate really.

Loving it. I'm not as brilliant as I thought, which in this case is a good thing as it will make it last.

For people liking this I can heartily recommend the old PC classics
    Myst
    RIVEN
    Safe Cracker
    Traitors Gate

They must be available for emulation. Myst in particular should be mandatory for people to play due to its historical importance. It even had a spoof game made.

@Rhythm No tablet or phone? How can you not have a phone? (Nexus 4 is cheap as chips at the moment)

@Tonka I have a phone, just not a touchscreen nonsense device. Sold my Galaxy Note in April to go back to Symbian. Prior to that I tried iOS (iPhone and iPad), Windows Phone and other Android phones but they were all tosh

    Cool.

I thought I was extreme with my measly 10month experience of "smart"phones. Would not want to go back though. Mostly because I suck at T9 and really enjoy G+.

This was tremendous on the iPad but once I'd finished it I left it on there for months hoping for some DLC to play more of it, but when none came I deleted it. And the following month there was news of DLC for those who'd finished.

Does that mean I need to replay the whole thing to get to the new bit? And is the new bit worth it?

I'll say again though, brilliant game.

Any Netflix library in the world for a couple of quid a month? Gimme!

I think you can play it without having finished the game. It popped up on the menu screen on Android.
