Don't choose Hull, for fuck's sake.

I'm not sure you'll find much help here.
CS/IT, not games specifically, and not just PG, but still...

Most universities that offer Game Programming will probably be newer unis, and I don't know very much about any of them :(

The university may be good, but the city of Hull is an absolute shit hole.

What Tom said. I did my degree at Hull and while the uni is lovely, the place and the people are just awful.

I'd choose Birmingham from that list.

One of my mates went to Staffordshire Uni - I've not been to Hull, but it sounds a lot like Stoke.

what about course provided by universities?
  • Deleted user 30 August 2013 13:44:39
I had a friend who did some Bsc thingy at Hull and he really liked the town. He was adamant about it.

Basingstoke, now that is a shit place. So dull.

Birmingham would be the best choice from that list. It also has a large number of British born Indian students. So the social side should also be good.

Bradford is probably the most Indian University in England but I do not know if they offer the course you want.

There's an interesting article and comments here for others looking at "Game" related degrees:

Captain Blackadder: I then leapt on the opportunity to test you. I asked if he'd been to one of the great universities, Oxford, Cambridge, or Hull.
    Nurse Mary: Well?
Captain Blackadder: You failed to spot that only two of those are great Universities.
    Nurse Mary: Swine!
General Melchett: That's right! Oxford's a complete dump!

I don't think English is his first language.

He's probably more intelligent than most people on this forum regardless.

The Chelmsford campus of Anglia Ruskin is up the road to me, but I think it'd be the Cambridge campus that does Game Programming. Chelmsford is mostly nursing/teaching.

Still, nice enough campuses. The missus' is currently doing early years education at Chelms, and no complaints.

From that list I'd suggest an Msc at Hull or Goldsmiths. But that's purely based on what I know of those places in general, NOT the particular courses.

I hate to say this, but try thestudentroom.co.uk. A shithole, but probably better advice.

You might be better of getting a general computer science degree and picking up the game focus in your own time or after. No game company will consider you less qualified for it, if anything then probably the opposite.
