Conversely, being asked whether I want a receipt in Starbucks, when I am seconds from drinking the product, always feels daft.

Gather they ask in case you're claiming the price back on expenses (which I never am).

I worked at toys r Us when I was 16 and had to ask the customers every time if they had a reward card. A reward card! A fucking reward card! In a toy shop! God I hated that place.

Toys R Us genuinely scarred you, didn't it Jambo?

Was my first ever job and I hated it. They gave you a shit uniform, which you had to pay for out of your meager 3.15 an hour wage. I did learn one valuable lesson though; all parents in toy shops are cunts. True story.

If you were being dragged around by sprogs who will grow up to never love you, being made to buy overpriced pieces of plastic tat, wouldn't you be a cunt too?

Hmmm. Perhaps. I did see many clear examples of trying to buy a child's love. Although there's also the fact that human beings tend to regard people in retail as pond scum.

I often find that you can gauge a person's general cuntiness on how they act towards retail workers.

I think I have one! Think I was planning to buy something biggish... Horrible shop. You'd think it be easy to make a friendly, warm, welcoming toy shop.

For some reason DHL do a deal with Nectar cards, double or triple points for every spent. As my company gives about 50k to DHL every year, that sorts the staff Xmas bonus out. All the points go to my personal card, and I just convert them into gift cards for Sainsbury's.

Personally I shop at Lidl...not sure how some of the Sainbury's shoppers can afford it....

True. I do wonder what it is about being in a retail establishment where a person's sense of decency and ability to interact with a person goes out of the window.

Pretty much every single Youtuber playing racing games with the stupid racing line on, and some playing in bumper cam view only. It really grinds my gears (pun intended).

Video game reporters who seem unable to use a joypad. I'm not saying they have to be an amazing game player but jesus don't record a bit of gameplay from someone who seems to have difficulty with moving and looking at the same time.

Are you talking about that recent incident with the Japanese journo playing cuphead? My God that was bad.

I think the one that stands out is Polygon and it's gameplay video of Doom. It was excruciating to watch and failed to give a sense of fluidity that exists in the game.

I haven't seen that but I believe Cuphead is a hard game so I wouldn't be bothered if they were shit. Unless the reporter hadn't touched a controller in their life.

ok, watched little snippets of it, not watching that for half an hour and yes, that was not good - but then i dont remember my run through those levels being anything other than torturous as the game played that bit quicker than i was used too (i wasn't that bad).

To make you feel better, try watching this :)

probably one of my favourite preview videos in a little while.

That was pretty good to watch, I'm actively looking forward to that game. Actually come to think of it EG staff seem a bit cack-handed when playing games. Makes me chuckle.

    Bacon.

Whether is from Sainsbury's, Asda or Tesco. If you try and fry it you end up boiling it. I assume it's the amount of water they pump into meat these days, but I'm always having to drain the pan after 2 or 3 minutes.

    It wasn't always like this.

Yeah, the way it starts out the size of a 16oz steak then shrinks to the size of a cashew nut as it cooks is slightly galling, but stick a couple in a bap with gallons of brown sauce and you're in heaven regardless of the lack of coherent meat. Unless you're one of those freaks that only likes red sauce that is.
