S7 and S7 Edge are the same aside from the fancy screen on the Edge right?

Pretty much. The edge is bigger with a slightly better battery but that's about it.

I bought the Xperia XA1 and was initially happy with it. After a week however, I noticed less sensitivity on the screen, especially around the edges. It got worse and a couple of days later I had definite dead areas around the edges,

I took it back to the shop and they replaced it no problem, it had no marks on it, I hadn't dropped it and there was no water damage etc. They told me it was because I had played games on it to much, I think they were implying that it had got too hot (they didn't speak English that well because I am in Vietnam) when though I had never felt any heat from it and the only game I play is Clash Royal which I don't think is very demanding.

Anyway, I'm just about to leave the country and the same thing has started to happen again. There's no way I can go back to the same shop because I'm not in that city and I leave the country in literally a few hours.

I've not heard any other reports of this problem with this model so maybe this store just got a bad batch? I don't do anything weird with it, I use it a fair bit but no more than any phone I've had before.

Is my warrantee with Sony or with the shop? Could I get it replaced in an official Sony Centre anywhere in the world?

    Cheers

You've got a Sony warranty, and I'd suggest you use them for a replacement, since the shop seems like it's issuing out defective phones. You can send it to Sony for repair or replacement.

So now the dead areas on my phone are getting worse and I can't find a Sony service Centre here. As it is a new phone and I am basically in a third world country I think my chance of finding a replacement screen is pretty slim.

Should it be easy enough to get fixed? I don't mind paying, I just need a working phone..

    What's a decent (Slim) case for a OnePlus 3T?

I have one of their official ones, but have broken it getting the phone out. I could get a straight replacement,† but they're not cheap...

Also - the official screen protector that the phone comes with seems pretty soft/poor, do am tempted to grab a different one of Amazon.

What do we think? I had been holding out for it but had hoped for 400 quid. Will need the 128mb.

I preordered one, but after this review I'm not so sure. I have a Nexus 5x and want a phone with a better camera, the wife has a pixel which takes fantastic photos, was hoping the op5 would be better but the photos look drab and weird. I might just pay the extra oner and buy a pixel. :/

It's amazing on paper but something about the one plus just never clicked for me. The S7 in comparison just felt more polished.

Also this new one is too big for my little Trump hands.

    Get. The. Moto. Z. Play.

It's the phone everyone should have.

This stellar battery life would be all for naught if the Z Play had showstopping failures in other areas, but thatís not the case. Itís a little bigger than Iíd like, but aside from that, I donít have any issue with the display (I donít care about using my phone for VR, which is really the only reason youíd need higher than 1080p resolution), the processor is more than capable for what I use my phone for, and even the camera is good enough that I donít miss my Pixel when Iím taking photos.
Go get it. RUN. It's about to be replaced by the slightly crappier Moto Z Play 2.

Does it have the clean Android that the G series has?

So I got another not blocked iPhone SE after a few people on here said it was passable. I know not everyone's an Apple fan, but if you feel happy with an iPhone and you want a small phone still then it's a good shout.

I think it's shape of a 5 with the gubbins of a 6. Anyway, it's lightening fast, does the job, I'm happy.

Bought an s8 a few days ago and it really is lovely. Just a little narrower than the s7 Edge, so it's nicer to hold. It's not that much more expensive really, so thought I'd get the newer model and very pleased so far.

I paid £125 up front and £27 p/m for 6gb data and unlimited calls and texts with o2. Around that price I'd happily recommend.

The OnePlus 5 looks pretty decent (if the 3T is anything to go by, it's a beast), and certainly a top end phone. However, the yearly improvements in phones are so minor and incremental - I'm really hoping someone introduces something which is a real game changer (as Apple did with the first iPhone).

Still, I love my OP3T. It's a cracking phone, save for the battery life which isn't great after having an Xperia Z3 for the last 2 years...

    @thelzdking yes.

And Nougat. Only addition afaik are the excellent gesture controls. Like twist for camera and karate chop for flashlight. Plus their lock screen notifications.

Sweet. A while back my G2 stopped charging and I had to get a new phone. I went for an LG K10 because it was comparable in specs with a supposedly better battery life and camera. It's a buggy piece of shit with a painfully short battery life and muddy camera. Plus it overheats. I do like the styling though.

The Moto Z Play has lasted me two full days between charges. That includes 2 hrs of Pokemon Go, downloading a tv show and watching 7 episodes of it among the other stuff.

It's a beast AND it supports photospheres (if you get the Google camera app) which the Moto X Play didn't.

Bit on the large side though. Especially since I put it in one of them wallet covers from fear of cracking the screen like I did with my last phone... and the one before that.

It wasn't that bad a review - he says the pictures are the same or "no worse" than pixel or iphone7. But for £150-£200 less.

Aye. After watching it - my initial response was to Razz's post (never trust him again) - it's not a bad review.

I'm going to be happy not having to constantly delete things.

Pro mode is where its at if you're taking photos, then you dont have to worry about the image processing making the photo look drab etc.

Don't get a oneplus 5, they have way too many problems. Shitty camera problems and the screen is on upside down.
