So I need someone who knows what they're talking about to help/suggest to me a GOOD gaming TV. I have heard a lot about how some TV's have a lot of "input lag" and other things that can help or improve your gaming experience. Apparently monitors are better than TV's for gaming also.

I don't really know much about TV's, I currently have a Samsung le26s86bd, which I have had for a good 4 years or so now... Is this good for gaming? Or should I get a better TV? Please help....

@Armoured_Bear Shit I forgot to say it can't be any bigger than 30 inches....probably looking at around 25 inches really. But that does look good. Just too big... thanks though!

Great website if you are in the market for a TV. The reviews are thorough and take gaming into account.

That's a pity, I'm not that up to speed with smaller TVs I'm afraid, good luck!

What do you need to hook up to it? At that size you may be better off getting a monitor if you only need to connect devices with HDMI/VGA.

If it's got to be that small, then I'd go with a monitor.

I have a Dell monitor I use for gaming and it's utterly fantastic. So I'd start your search with them.

Same here. I have a 27 inch Dell, the quality on it is amazing. I have it next to a 40 inch HDTV so I can do direct comparisons, the leap in quality is very obvious. It's a few years old now, but it cost me around 400 when I got it.

I recently bought the Sony 42" W653 which is around 580. It is used with a PS3 mainly so don't know how works with PC but i dont notice any particular lag and is noticeable more responsive than my last TV.

I agree with the people saying try to stick with a monitor, as much as i love my TV i think my monitor edges it in terms gaming althourgh overall balance is better with TV. As for Plasma vs LED it is really a bit mixed as both have posistive and negative depends what is important to you.

edit: not that it matters as you wont find a plasma in the size you want.

Thanks, this is a good site. I like the sound of this: http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/samsung-le32c530-le40c530-20100813815.htm
If I had to I think I could go with 32 inch tbh.

@jambii267 Yeah I was thinking that, but what about for when I watch films or just TV in general? Wont it be worse than I have now?

I recommended that same TV 40" for my son; this is a bargain and you'll have enough change for a PS4 and games.

    Edit: Eurogamer Review.

Looks decent, will have to research the input lag and that though! Thanks I will definitely consider this one.

It is 33ms which isn't too bad but compared to the new Sony Bravia 8ms and the Samsung LE32C530 14ms, it is pretty high.

On the hdtvtest website, there is a link to find the best TV suited to your needs and you can choose size, price and specify for gaming. I used it to help decide what TV I wanted a while back.

So you can go bigger, what made you think you can only go small?

Do NOT get a tv if you are PC gaming, I went through that shambles very recently, ended up getting the Pro lite G2773HS Monitor, 27 inch, 100mhz its very nice.

@Nades The size you get should really be based on available space and how close you sit to it; personally, I have a 50" plasma in a reasonably sized (something like 20'x10', if I recall correctly) living room, but sit across the narrower width so it becomes incredibly immersive. If you're going to be lying on a bed, with the display just beyond the end of it, then you will want a smaller display for sure, but if you've got a reasonable sized room and going to be sitting over 6' away then don't restrict yourself. If you can, get hold of some big pieces of cardboard and cut out the sizes of some screens that you're checking out, then see what you find comfortable for you.

I saw a similar chart with a good explanation somewhere years ago. Cannot remember where.

Maybe it's hidden somewhere in the HDTV thread.
