Something wrong with the ps3's flash memory?

Recently I got a ps3 slim 12gb as a gift. If I would buy one myself I would of course get one with a larger hdd, but enough with that.

I've got a single game installed, Bayonetta, which is approx 4 gb large. Other than that I have a couple of saves from a few other games which all is around 50 to 300 kb large, except for one save from Driver: SF which is around 1500 kb big.

Yet this seems to take up all the space on my hdd. I'm no math genius but that's just bullshit. I do not have any videos, photos or other junk stored on the console, it's just that Bayo install and a couple of small saves.

Defective drive or am I missing something?

No, there should be more left. Plus, the OS is not kept on the drive.

I get a "less than 500 mb left" popup everytime I start up a game. And there's system information...

So how much does system information say you have taken up?

Edit: and Bayonetta is the only game that shows up in Game Data?

360 mb of 12 gb left. Could something with the ps store/home/plus take up the missing space? I've created an account and all that but haven't downloded anything.

Just seems strange to me as I've gone through every single map but found nothing.

    Glitched out perhaps?

No, I got three other games in that folder, all around 100-500 kb.

The 12gb flash drive is only good for one, maybe 2 disc game installs at a time.
Add the lunacy of how download games are installed and you'll find its no fun if you like to juggle games

Put a bigger HD in it if you want to get the most of the console.

What are your other games? Some do a cheeky stealth install, but that should show up in your game data folder.

Bayonetta is about 5Gb if I recall, about 500Mb for the patch, and 4.5Gb for the install.

What Trafford said. Any games that you DL will actually take up double the advertised space after you install.

That's not true. They need double the advertised space to install, but then take up the advertised space.
