I'm going to find myself in London soon, and am planning on seeing a West End show while I'm there. I've currently got a shortlist of five, and I'm wondering if any of you have seen any of them or can even recommend something else.

    The Ladykillers
    The Woman in Black
    The 39 Steps
    The Book of Mormon
    Private Lives

The Book of Mormon or The Ladykillers are the front-runners at the moment. Thanks!

Isn't there a Metacritic for shows?

Maybe, but I'd quite like to hear some EG opinions. The hive mind often gets things right.

Can't go wrong with any of them. I'd chuck in blood brothers as well If that's still running.

Those I know who've seen the 39 steps say it's good. Good fun. I've not seen any of them.

It is, and yes - it's supposed to be great.

Can you get tickets for TBOM? Thought it was completely sold out.

Blood Brothers is a good shout.

I'm not really too big on musicals, The Book of Mormon is the exception because it's supposed to be absolutely amazing and mainly because it's the guys who did South Park.

Desperate to see TBOM but it's a bit of a trek for the theatre!

It's not as musically as other musicals. I think it's great myself and I'm not into musicals either. If you don't fancy it you don't fancy it though. But I'd be surprised if you are able to get tickets for bom as I've been looking for months without luck.

    Book of Mormon definitely.

That said, Blood Brothers is magnificent. If you haven't seen it you really should.
