    But you will!

Do you play Dark Souls/Demon's Souls? Just part of the game, but just as with those games once you know what you're doing and the levels/areas you will die less and feel like a badass when you clear it without dying once! :)

@ZizouFC I've not played those games. I'll don my mask and give it another few hours this week. It must click at some point!

I honestly don't think this is as hard as it's being built up to be. Once I got my head round the basic way to play the game I found myself on the last level really quite quickly. And then I stopped playing because it was virtually impossible.

If you can do the rest of the game you can definitely do the last level. Maybe look at a youtube video, there'll be something fairly simple you haven't tried. Honest! I found it (the whole game that is) really hard to start with but didn't struggle too much with the final level.

I can get the dogs and the one with the sword killed, and it's fairly obvious what I have to do next, I just can't quite pull it off, and I can't quite be arsed to persist.

The two obstacles either side of the room will block the last fella's bullets. Hide behind one of them until he reloads then you have a fairly big window to get him. IIRC.

Finding Assault (13 I think) a bit of a pain in the arse

I just wish there was a proper score attack mode

I wish I'd pushed through the whole game when I was originally playing because it's really difficult when you go back to it!

I personally found the 'no dog attacks' mask to be vital on the later levels. They are so quick it makes things a lot harder when they are on your arse too. The 'fatal door hits' mask is the other one that is really useful though.

    Bump.

    fucking loving this.

And for a couple of quid as well. Crazy.

Enjoying it more than any "next gen" title I have played thus far.

I started playing it and hoped I'd like it, but ended up getting sidetracked by Dead Nation before I clicked with Hotline Miami.

I like the style of HM but the controls are bloody fiddly to me - found I was dying a lot just due to snagging on some scenery whilst trying to run away from baddies. Maybe I shouldn't be running away?! :)

Bought Persona 4 for 20 large off of Amazon, never played any of the other games before, but I thought I should probably buy my first retail Vita game.

    @infoxicated

It's the music more than anything else. Hands down the best soundtrack I have ever heard on a game.

Going to go seek out the soundtrack now actually.

Don't forget you can lock on to enemies by touching them. Inappropriately;-) Makes it a lot easier imo.

@SYS64738 I didn't really want to use that as a crutch, because I know I won't be quick enough to select and shoot when there are lots of bad guys. :)

Pressing square (I think it is) worked better for me to lock on.

Yeah, you can tap square to lock on then use the right stick to toggle who its aimed at.

Tapping the lock on button is also handy for finding out where the last bastard on a level is.

Also, while im here, I finished the entire game using the tony the tiger mask. Charging into a room and punching everyone to death before they can react seemed to be a thoroughly effective tactic.

So, I've been on holiday in Orlando the last two weeks and after getting bored of Dead Nation I thought I'd give Hotline Miami yet another try. Not sure why, but something clicked this time and I really started enjoying it.

Been totally addicted to it and I couldn't wait to play it on the plane home yesterday, but just before I boarded I got the email saying my PSN+ subs had renewed and didn't have time to tether the Vita to my phone to reactivate!

Getting stuff for free on PSN+ is both a blessing and a curse!

Totally wish I'd "got" this sooner, though - really enjoying it now. :)

Can't wait to play more when the kids are asleep. Kept forgetting sometimes they are only knocked out and got some nasty surprises. Epic soundtrack.
