@monkehhh Yes :) But I was so impressed by how well they played live.

The stuff on the Beeb is <1/10th of what goes on. You can't realistically pass judgement on it if you've never been. So much more to it than TV will ever capture.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

The BBC3 muppets did make me want to stab them though.

@localnotail I know what you mean about 6music. I should imagine for anyone who listens to that station, that Glasto would've been pretty interesting this year.

Loads of great new ideas out there at the moment and I think 6music have really helped to save music in a way. There just seems to be a bit of a burst in creativity going on, which is more than welcome if you ask me!

For anyone who still doesn't know. You can watch pretty much any set, minus all the waffle and fashion talk etc:

I swear rudimental did a live set and saw some of it on the beeb, but can I find it anywhere now? Can I fuck.

I can find a dj set at shangri la(hell dept), but not the live set I recall.

Did anyone else see this, or am I finally going mental?

@Vortex808 didn't see it on the beeb, but they definitely did a live set. Probably on sonic stage? My mates went to it but I didn't

    You're very welcome.

Now, can anyone explain why the fuck Haim are so popular? 80's songstresses were rubbish in the 80's, and just as rubbish 25 years later.

Think I'll just switch everything off.

Are they actually popular? They're certainly being pushed a lot by the industry as the next big thing, anyway.

No I don't think they are all that popular to be honest. They were the winners of last year's BBC Introducing which means nothing, so the assumption that they are popular probably comes from the fact that the BBC keep banging on about them through all their media outlets.

Yeah, I remember they won the previous Sound of... competition. It was already clear by then they were going to be really pushed whether people were interested or not. It all feels a bit like an industry narrative right now. I've never heard anyone talk about them with much enthusiasm or anything. Not sure they've really caught on.

I think the Glastonbury weekend was meant to be their big coming out too. Obviously a lot of strings being pulled to try and make them unavoidable over the weekend. Didn't they play the Pyramid stage despite not having an album out? Also, doing a stint as Primal Scream's backing singers, which felt a bit forced.

Sadly, that's the DJ set at shangri la which I could find. They did a live set of their stuff through the day outside. Some was on red button or one of the live broadcasts, but I can't find it easily.

As for haim, I don't get it either. To paraphrase Morrissey, they say nothing to me about my life. I am too old to be the target audience, but I find a lot of the current bands really bland.

    They're hip.

    Thus, hipsters like them.

And if a Radio 6 DJ said they're great, then they must be.

I refer those who are discussing haim to this, that I posted earlier in the tread.

Haim are probably the least cool band ever.

Every girl I ever kissed I was thinking of a pro footballer.
