In all the fuss I missed this so apologies if old.|
Not sure if there's anyone out there like me who was holding out for a Steam like pricing model. Seems not.
"A company spokesperson confirmed to Kotaku that Microsoft's own first-party Xbox One games will cost $59,99, the same price top Xbox 360 games have."
I suppose it still could happen although MS hasn't exactly been fulfilling people's expectations of late.
Edit: Article also talks about how Sony might price theirs at $70

All new games on Steam are expensive.
It's about the sales et al. If MS do sales, then people will respond. Otherwise it'll be a pain in the ass.

That's something I guess. Would be surprised to see Sony going higher though.
"Steam pricing model" is a fallacy. Their out of sales prices are often higher for new releases than other (PC) retailers.
I imagine there will be a lot of people crying into their sofas if they put all their eggs in Sonys basket and Microsoft turn round and do a "Steam sale" for Christmas
