Haven't seen a thread for this one, which will be out before the end of the year. I loved the Olympic games on the Wii, so will definitely be getting this one.

I'm moderately interested in this. I rented the Wii version a few weeks ago and thought it was alright. Looks like the kind of game that is a lot more fun in multiplayer.

I hope there's a storyline where Wario and Waluigi are the contractors who mysteriously 'lose' an exorbitant amount of money building the Olympic facilities

Curling looks like it will make good use of the gamepad and have some depth. I'm primarily looking for some depth rather than a collection of quickly mastered mini games.

Whenever we have friends over for a social gathering, we've played a lot of Nintendo Land and Wii Sports. I've skipped all the Mario & Sonic Olympic games, so far, but i'm willing to give this one a sniff if it reviews well enough.

I think it's going to be more of a SimMafia organised crime management game.

I enjoy the M&S Olympic series but, does the confirmation of an online multiplayer make this any more attractive to the undecided or those that made up their minds not to buy this game?

Makes me much more interested, I'll wait for reviews but I could def enjoy some online shenanigans with this.

    @Oceanstar

I'm much more interested because of the online

Didn't they say that only 4 events were playable online? Or was that any 4 events that form a cup, like in Mario Kart?

    That would be typical Nintendo...

@Raiko101 Yup just checked. They are four games. 3 official Olympic games and 1 'dream' game.

Anyone pick this up in the end? Watching the winter Olympics has put me in the mood. But seems a mixed bag.

Due to a technical error a fifth of the gold rings have been replaced by invincibility stars.

20 on amazon just now. I'd be tempted if I didn't have too many games to finish just now.

I still think 20 is too expensive for a game that looks like a Wii title.

I thought videos made it look pretty good. Same art style as ever of course, but that's just how it is. Don't get me wrong, it's nothing outstanding, but it looks as crisp and vibrant as I'd have expected from a Wii U version.

The main change I'd expect to make any difference is the increased control accuracy now MotionPlus is mandatory, but I've not idea if that'll have actually changed anything to a noticeable degree.

I was on the eShop showing my grandson Tropical Freeze videos and he saw the "Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games" banner and he said "Can we get that game Granddad?" I told him "It isn't very good" and explained "We'll be playing Donkey Kong the next time you stay."

I might take a gamble on it, like I say Olympics have got me in the mood. Watching the snowboarding reminded me of Amped on the original Xbox I loved those games. Pretty much sold the Xbox to me.

I don't expect as much from this but will pass the time.

I went back to the recent SSX game the other day but it's just not quite right. It seems caught between sim and arcadey, with the (mostly) realistic looking mountains and characters, but utterly ridiculous tricks. There are no authentic events like halfpipe, big air, slalom etc, just mountains you can ride down, which are fun but I like a mixture. It lacks the whole wacky stadium feel of the early SSX games at the same time. The tricks are so OTT you can't really tell what's going on.

I really want to play a more authentic but casual snowboarding game like Cool Boarders used to be but there aren't any like it anymore.

@Deckard1 I remember looking at Stoked when it came out but didn't buy it and then forgot about it. Will give it a go seeing as its cheap on Amazon.

Ah, a blast from the past!

... Cool Boarders, Destruction Derby and WipEout were the games I always played during the PSone days.

The recent SSX wasn't all that great. They should have done a HD jobbie for Tricky instead.

I almost ordered this but then read the reviews, it sounds a half-arsed mess so I won't bother.
    Shame.
