So I 'upgraded' to the 3DS XL and while I prefer the build quality and obviously the size of the screen, there is some horrible wavy shit going acroos the top screen. I can only see a few posts relating to this across the tinterweb so maybe its only a problem a few of us are having??

Its like a bunch of line that make the screen darker that are at set interval across the screen, you can only see them if you move the 3DS slightly, or your head and then they seem to move across the screen. Its very off putting and I keep noticing it and getting pissed off. Am I the only one with this??

You can actually see it on this pic from the Eurogamer review, yet they make no reference to it throughout the review??

Is it visible with the 3D off?

I thought it was but i realised I hadnt clicked it all the way off, and no, it isnt, I think its a problem with the 3d nature of the screen, one which no one bothered to mention in any reviews and which I find incredibly annoying

I can't say I get those lines at all, really. The image does go nuts when the viewing angle isn't spot on, but I can't say I have ever had dark patches on my screen. Perhaps the next time you're in town, check out HMV or Game and see if they've got a model on display to compare it to.

Yeah, you're holding it at the wrong angle.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

Thanks, I've always wondered what those patterns were called. It's a very noticeable effect on the overhead signboard support structures on the m25, round Heathrow side. Big circles get progressively smaller as you approach the sign. Trippy.
