Me too. Although I'll probably set the timer for 30 mins before the my alarm in the mornings - just so getting out of a warm bed isn't so painful.

BUT THAT'S IT!!! YOU HEAR ME SSE!!!

I had kept the heating off for ages last winter and kept usage low on my gas. Got my yearly check up type letter from them, estimating that my current bill was set correctly and didnt need to change.

Tight month a few months back, found out I had gone overdrawn as Gas had doubled my direct debit and taken it out the account.

Phoned up with reading and they corrected the bill - i was 130 in credit. Still had to persuade them to lower my DD back to what it was. Pricks.

When it gets cold, I turn on my pc and take the side cover off and play a CPU intensive game.

The fan blasts the warm air across my toes. Toasty!

Come February, I expect I'll be huddling up to my PS3 so I can take advantage of the warmth.

That's true, but why should they not be cheaper, if it it turns out energy companies are gouging?

Our bills are going to rise anyway, as all these poxy green levies are paid and the cost of the new nuke is added.

The latest statistics, from mid-September, show that the average profit margin made on the 1,315 bill is 65
I don't consider that excessive. I'm sure there's some massaging of figures, and some will go on dividends, but....

If anybody is thinking seriously about cutting back on the heating, one thing that helps when you're sitting there feeling cold and miserable is talking a walk in the bitter, Arctic piss storm outside.

Half an hour later when you get back in your chilly hovel it will feel like a palace of warmth and comfort in comparison.

    True.

If you take a cold shower before you go out and don't dry off properly that helps too.

You'll end up in a lovely warm hospital and you won't need to heat your home until you've recovered from the hypothermia or pneumonia.

From what I gather from the local tramps, a four pack of Tennant's Super is just as effective as central heating.

I have a mate that uses a calor gas heater and writes off the refilling of it as a business expense.

I've set up a chair in my freezer - 5 minutes in there and the house feels all toasty. Don't overdo it though...

The body is a natural heater, in these budget conscious times what sane person would take offense at free heating via the medium of a long hug.

I target women due to their tendency to feel the cold.

    Blonde, young, pert women.

The human body is but a source of energy, and the cold is a drainer of energy, like a draining influence of external matter, it drains heat from the source. The way to a warmer life is to embrace the drain and the energy source as all are but the same as all were made at some point and so are the same, and to be warm is to be drained and fulfilled at the same time.

Fear is also the thingamajig, so embrace your fear, err, and something like that. Wrap your poo in foil and put it in your pocket, basically.

Miners use to carry pasties in their pockets for warmth and easy access to lunch. Might try this.

I have seriously heard about men wearing tights to keep warm. It actually makes perfect sense if you think about it.

However, you could just buy some proper thermal underwear and not worry about being accused of being a pervert.

Peeing yourself also gives a nice bit of warmth, plus if your water is metered you'll also save some money by not having to flush the toilet as often.

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

My uncle used to wear tights under his leathers when he was a dispatch rider. Toasty, apparently. Personally, I prefer thermals - less sweaty.

Given I've lived in a flat with no heating for years now, I can recommend hot water bottles, hot meals, layers and a blanket to wrap around when sitting about as the easiest way to keep from freezing your tits off.

-- boobs do nothing for me, I want moustaches and chest hair.
