Brave move. I reckon we'll be lucky to get 300 cars. But as long as they are the important ones - not 20 different Skylines - I don't have a big problem with that.

I think it's a good time to move on and build new assets, which will likely be part of Forza 6 too.

And no doubt we'll get a lot of DLC cars over the next year or so too.

    Yeah, I reckon 250 to 300.

They'll still probably do the duplicates though. Far too easy to just throw a paint job on a model.

They've also said every car in the game gets the Auto vista treatment this time.

My only worry is with the amount of work that's gone into remodeling all the cars and creating a game from scratch how many tracks they'll be.

The Prague track looks stupidly detailed, I just hope that isn't the only new track along with half a dozen brought back from previous games regardless whether they've rebuilt them again.

Yeah, tracks have always been a major problem with Forza. They really need to work on that.

There are strong indications that Spa is in.

car wise didn't they say that the garage models (the ones you could inspect) in FM4 were made as they would be used in game next-gen.

This is the Day One Xbox exclusive DLC that Microsoft said would be included with the console. What a gip, and all so that Game can charge UK customers an extra 5 over the RRP.

Im sure MS didn't say the DLC was with the console, most if not all launch games have Day One Edition DLC. If you don't want it buy the normal edition...

    Xbox, Steam - DuvaDan
    3DS 4639-9278-1687
    Feel free to add me

Trying to find the link with Turn 10 talking about track wear and tear, with something like Le Mans and how the track will be different as the race goes on

Another article about them laser scanning the road round Prague. Mentioning hiw they can scan the road down to a depth of 6mm and get all the imperfections of the road. Then use that data for the game. Bloody Nerds these days :)

I think this is the one thing that I will really miss by not getting an XB1.

I'm not tempted by wheels anymore. I just don't have the inclination to have it always set up. I've owned three wheels and I won't buy another.

It's not that I don't like playing using them, it's a fab experience. I just know it doesn't fit into my life and I'll be happy playing Forza 5 with the pad.

The Prague track looks amazing and it's great news that they've included Spa. My only concern is the majority of the remaining tracks being made up of the same tracks we've been racing on since the original Forza except more shiny.

Totally understand these courses take some doing especially building them from scratch and I suppose the licensing involved takes time also. But now the 'OMG THAT LOOKS AMAZING' factor has wore off, I'm not sure if I can still get excited about racing round Laguna Seca for the millionth time.

Seems a bit cruel that this stunning looking game is launching around the same time as Gran Turismo 6 on the PS3, assuming the Xbox One does come out in November as rumoured. I wonder which will be the better game... ;)

For my money, it would absolutely have to be Forza 5 for the simple fact that Forza 4 was a much better and more enjoyable game than the disappointing (and unfinished at launch) Gran Turismo 5. I see no point in buying Gran Turismo 6 at this point even though I still own a PS3. I'm very much focused on next-gen racing games at this point not current-gen ones. I'm looking forward to experiencing the new controller with this game as I've heard very good things about the trigger force feedback.

There's always DLC. Not ideal I know but we're likely to see a lot more of that next-gen. That said, there's no excuse for not including plenty of tracks on the disc, particularly since they're using 25/50 GB BDs this time round.

I've just been on the website of the company that laser scanned Prague for Turn10.

What other locals has this company said it has visited recently?

    Yas Marina
    Monza
    Silverstone
    Long Beach

    And....

A certain hilly racing circuit in NSW Australia. :-)

    From the horse's mouth:

    Fanatec on next gen consoles

A few people are wondering why we are so quiet.
We will not make the mistake again to mention new things too early. We will announce something new if production is about to start. We are working on several products for several platforms and every one of our new products will set a new benchmark as they did in the past.
We are also trying hard to protect the investment of our existing customers by making our current products upwards compatible. But we cannot confirm that before the final consoles are released.

    Upwards compatible?

There's no way that's possible, unless MS are using the same security chip in Xbox One products that they were in the 360 ones. Or, to put it another way, exceptionally unlikely.
