    I have logged way over 1000 hours on Forza 4 and Forza 5 was the last remaining hope I had for the Xbone.

    The fact that it doesn't have an option for weather and I suspect no simulation (real world) tyre wear/fuel means it's a no go. I won't pay £429 for a slightly glossier version of Forza 4, I would sooner stick with Forza 4 and if I go new gen possibly get a PS4 as well.

    My hopes now are pinned on Forza 6 {sighs}
    Read the thread.

    There are indications that tire wear and fuel use are in.

    Where has that been confirmed? I've not seen it anywhere yet (don't tease me with this as my hopes are now slightly re kindled).

    It's not confirmed. As stated on the last page, there are indicators for those in the GUI and the more simmy aspects have been mentioned in interviews.

    Will just have to wait and see.

    You won't buy it if they don't make you refuel? I might not buy it if they do! :D

    No weather, though... I mean, c'mon already.

    What was all that talk about them and EA making it happen?

    Only would want as an option. As you say, not every will want it, just like other assists.

    Wow, anyone else noticed what a technophobe I am?

    Those links just take you to the main page. Hopefully entering it manually so you can copy & paste will work (old git that I am)

    Watch some footage. There's a tire wear indicator and what seems to be a fuel one too next to the HUD rev counter.

    @superdelphinus

    If they don't have Porsche I would be very surprised if they don't have RUF.

    Can you post a link? I've just hunted and can find nothing. FM4 obviously had these indicators. They just (sadly) hardly moved at all.

    Some impressions from the show:

    I got the chance to play Forza 5 multiple times both with the pad and with the wheel and also sat back and just watched for a bit. While Blim's videos are the best yet, nothing compares to seeing it and playing it in person.

    Now being a big Forza fan I tired to be objective on all the other PS4/X1 games I played and saw and I can say without a doubt that Forza 5 was/is the best representation of Next Gen that I saw at the show. While some may argue with some of the other titles like Destiny, TitanFall etc, to me, just the look of how clean the image quality was, the lighting, level of detail in the environment and the cars, it just looke like the most impressive thing at the show.

    The fluid 60fps at 1080p with the amount of detail they had was just jaw dropping. The Forza fan in me though just loved that the environment was alive. It felt like a real race with fans waving flags, stuff flying overhead it just made it so much better than the typical sterile tracks that I have been use to in forza titles.

    I'd better hurry up and finish the career grid in FM4. I doubt I'll be going back to it once FM5 is out. :)

    Does this avatar thing mean that when I am single player career mode that all the other cars are driven by 'other people'? The uniformity of the AI was my biggest bugbear for previous Forza games.

    @Blaizefm no, from my understanding it'll likely jut track your driving style against parameters like;

    overall pace
    late braking
    aggression - possibly broken down into defending and passing
    and so on...

    so what I expect it then does is just adjust a matrix of values to 'recreate' how you drive. that then gets tagged and it'll match people who display a similar overall pace as you and characterize them with these traits.

    i'd be more hopeful if they were clearer on if they'd actually made the ai more aware and more racey.

    Yes it will bring in friends and others - or at least their Driveatar - for you to race against. You will be able to set a difficultly level and at the highest you'll be racing against the fastest Forza players, the ones that top the leaderboards.

    Could be fake. No way to know for sure I guess (it's not from an official source).

    Alas I've just fired up Forza 4 and taken this picture. Seems the wording is just the same:

    Thought this was interesting if true:

    The jump to Xbox One has necessitated drastic changes in methodology. "What we did was take all our knowledge from ten years, making four versions of Forza, and we just did a complete redesign of the entire production process, and our methods, and from the ground up we redesigned the way we're going to build cars," Garcia explains. "We changed it up and while we kept a lot of the good things, we've improved on other things that allow us to put more depth into our content."

    The studio has ditched all existing car assets and started afresh. "That's one of the challenges of developing for a new console," adds Bill Giese, design director. "We had to rebuild every asset in the game. Unlike previous versions where we could leverage things and move them over, everything's all-new in this console."

    Pretty damn brave (and expensive) to just dump everything rather than throwing the inferior stuff into the game.
