I remember a few years ago I used a really good Carbonara recipe from BBC Good Food when cooking for my Girlfriend. It went down a storm so I felt I should give back to the community.

I was a student at the time, so my specialty contribution was Marmite on Toast. I put the recipe up and got some funny reviews, then today its gone a little bit viral :S.

Its gotten coverage in the Daily Mail. Being called a 'Rogue BBC good food member' is the highlight of my week.

This isn't what viral means, but it's cool nonetheless!

When does Benno's cafe open? And should someone who does not like Marmite eat there?

You're a celeb now, you don't have to make your own posts, you have people who do that sort of stuff for you.

    Heh, nice one!

I often wonder how these things get picked up. Like some of the reviews of things on Amazon. Other than bored people sending them to each other. How do they get to the bored people first?

I may try that recipe tonight, or rather, get Mrs Hermit to try that recipe. She's supposed to be keeping me stocked up with snacks and whatnot, while I ignore her completely and watch the xbox show. Speaking of which, I suppose I'd better get my arse home.

Benno rated his own recipe. Back in 2001 when he was still desperate for any kind of attention for it, but still.

    Butter?
You sully the perfect marriage of toast and marmite with some cheap grease?

HA, thanks your support though Razz, it comes much appreciated.

My aim is to get Phillip Schofield to notice it. I know he likes Marmite on Toast, and I have applied to be on The Cube twice unsuccessfully. I was hoping this could be my way in :)

Who's the celebrity expert here? I'll give you a clue - it's a user beginning with B and it's Benno :p For what it's worth I'm with him on the butter issue, the flavours blend quite nicely.

Much like Mornington Crescent, those in the know, know that the amateur game is where it's at, and the Pros / celebs are just fronts for the corporate goliaths.

    ;o)

    Nice one dude!

Reminds me of an excellent post a while back on here that gave an increasingly ridiculous recipe for a steak sandwich (including meat from animals slaughtered only on the summer equinox or something) before finally ending with "serve with Monster Munch".

Man, I wish I could remember the thread that was in.
