I'm watching this new show, Sinner, on Netflix. Using headphones, the sound is very strange. It's like it's 3D, I keep having to take the headphones off to check that the sounds are actually coming from the show I'm watching.

It reminds me of the the old Aureal 3D technology, has Netflix started using some new fangled 3d sound tech?

I remember watching phantoms (which was the bomb, yo) and the sound was completely fucked. All echoey and ringing all over the place.

Might just be a knackered file they are streaming.

Chee's, but it's not that. It sounds amazing, like actually in the room with them. It's not just surround sound but there sounds above and below me. Fucking weird at first but awesome once you get used to it, I did some digging looks like Netflix have implemented some Dolby 3d sound thingy in their original content.

Have you got Atmos/DTS X speakers and receiver?

    Edit: ah headphones. Ignore me.

Yeah, just headphones. I'm looking into setting up a sound system once we finish redecorating. I'll look into the atmos recievers

'La La Land' was just uploaded. Again, I haven't seen it, but it was a 'big' movie.

Woohoo! I love La La Land.

The Sinner is supposed to be rather good, as Razz alludes. Also, Alias Grace is another Margaret Atwood adaptation, and feels pretty good thus far. It's a slow burn period piece, but there's enough intrigue going on to keep me interested.

A lot of good stuff to watch so enjoy. I can't afford such at the moment, even when I've been with Netflix in the U.K from day one. Very weird but worthy the sub price, no doubt.

Besides, while all these cool shows are in abundance on Netflix, we'll not speak of the some what targeted shakedown via Netflix & Amazon by some of a certain nature. Its quite clever indeed, what some will do, when some are doing well on these services & others not so much. I'm glad I saw the bigger plan of what some weaved in secret & far away just for gain & station. Invented scandal or real, I can't say, but I think some of is invented & I won't say what. Good thing I take much with a pinch of salt, to find ruse. Don't be a d-bag, to other people, people, especially with trojan horses of real ill horrid in the world.

Highly recommended to watch, try 1922, Gerald's Game, Defenders & Alias Grace, Mudbound, Punisher & western series Godless, on the way. All look cool! Yes, for the most progressive & different shows with better creative freedom than most, Netflix & Amazon (& some others) are the places to be, changing the story telling game, for the better.

1922 was actually alright as made for TV movies go, so he's not entirely whistling out of his arsehole.

    @nickthegun

1922 is good. Nice to have a retro tale. Godless looks cool, so watch the trailer, if you want a western that isn't Westworld. Not many about these days.

Well it seems Netflix and Amazon, they're being targeted by those of a certain nature. He doesn't go into what that nature is. It seems what this person or people are doing is quite clever. Again he doesn't go into details here. But it's something to do with certain things being popular and certain things being not so popular I believe. He goes on to say he's quite pleased that he discovered the secret plan for himself. Again light on details here. Something about an invented scandal and then I think he questions reality at some point. However luckily he takes all this with a pinch of salt. To find ruse.

He's now edited in something about a trojan horse. Again it's not clear what this is in relation to.

The entertainment of the modern era, is magical, my friends, & frequently with great whimsy & wonder. Alas, I find myself, with long term interest & experience, unable to perceive such delightful amazement. Readers of this online, digital, communique may be asking themselves, mentally & in their heads, if there is indeed, some sort or meaning & point behind it. Alas, it would prove churlish all round & leave, with some disappointment, an ending which might relieve some confusion & therefore we, must all ask ourselves, if this is indeed the case at this current moment & time.

Dark is an interesting Netflix show, as a crime thriller with time travel elements. An interesting mix to watch.

The Crown S2 is what it regally is. First season was great.

Bright is a cop movie with weird twist.

As for other things in this thread, sorry I shall keep my head & tongue as best as I can & hum to myself. Some words were not for you, so take heart.

My wife is just in love with samurai gourmet. I have to say, it's the most relaxing show I've seen since painting with Bob Ross.

Mine really liked Midnight Diner. She hasn't watched all of Samurai Gormet yet.

I finished Mindhunter yesterday and I thought it was pretty great. An evolution of Fincher's work with Zodiac. It's also miles better than the book from which it takes quite a lot.

The book is quite poorly written and John Douglas is a bit of a narcissistic asshole. The first few chapters are like some kid writing a loose memoir. And then .. and then.. features a lot and he just hops from one irrelevant story to another about how he was profiling everyone when he was a kid. It's really a bit strange. The parts about the serial killers are interesting but I'm not sure it's worth enduring Douglas. Robert Ressler's First mainstream book is a lot better if you are looking for some reading about these cases.

On the 3rd episode of Sinner. It's really good. It layers clues upon clues, but you're not sure what's real and what's a lie.
