So anyone found any gems recently?

Probably best if we try and mention if it is US/Canada/UK or any of the others to save people a trip to Moreflicks.

Just trying to think what I've watched recently:

Love The Beast on US was great if you like cars - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1284028/?ref_=sr_1

Midnight In Paris on Canadian Netflix was good if a bit strange.

Top Of The Lake - US Netflix - Six part BBC series that airs here in June. Stars Elizabeth Moss from Mad Men as a police officer in New Zealand.

I also just finished The National Parks - Americas Best Idea (US) a 6x2hrs PBS documentary about the US National Parks from their formation to 1980. Some of the photography in this was amazing.

Carnage (Canada) Polanski's new one with Kate Winslet, Christophe Waltz, Jodie Foster and John C Reilly. Intense but well worth a watch. Who's Afraid of Viginia Woolf-esque. But nowhere near as crazy or brilliant.

My wife keeps raving over EasyA (Canada again) is if your other halves are into such things. Better than your average teen/hguh school comedy

I've been watching Continuum on US Netflix.

Really good proper sci-fi. Not so much about the action but more the questioning the future and how society develops. Also helps the female lead is quite good and some handy tech toys.

Tucker and dale vs evil - comedy twist on teen slasher. It's pretty hard to describe but it's great! ( us/uk)

Love - very beautiful cinematography and quite strange SF movie. I'm gonna go ahead and call it art house. ( us I think)

My name us earl and Raising Hope - brilliant tv comedies. Of the 2 I prefer earl. Even though they are very silly they gave a lot of heart and both have a message that while is a bit simplistic is worthwhile. ( us)

Warehouse 13 - quirky tv SF show. Has great chemistry between the characters and fun stories. ( us/uk)

FDR American Badass - a werewolf bites FDR before he becomes president and infects him with the polio. It's discovered that the werewolf us a nazi sent Hitler who is also a werewolf. So FDR has to take em on to save the world with his troops and personally in machine gun firing wheelchair... It's really stupid and cheaply made but has quite a lot of known names in it. You'll either love it or hate it. I'm in he live it camp! Utterly bonkers and some fun ny shit :) ( us)

Instaban for failing to specify the region!

Region fail and we aren't even off page one.

Paranorman - US - Decent little animated film, which I think was only released around Halloween last year. I can imagine this must have permanently traumatised a fair few kids who were taken to see it, as it was pretty freaky in places.

    @wobbly_Bob

Watch Iron Sky on US Netflix.

In WW2 nazis leave earth to setup a moon base. Then in 2018 they return to earth to create a new world order. Because moon nazis are fun I think you will enjoy it.

Hemlock Grove any good? Seems to be a Netflix-only thing.

Once an eagle taught me courage. And I will never forget that day

It's ok, slightly better than most of the current supernatural teenagers stuff but still not great in its own right. Takes a bit of a dive towards the end of the season too, I'll probably still watch the second season though :)

    Portable view - Never forget.

If you subscribe to Unblock US, just switch regions. If not, think that's the only way to access it. Not sure there is another DNS service that has a region switcher.

    Noobz

US Netflix. Reasonably amusing comedy about a bunch of misfits attending a Gears of War 3 tournament, Jason Mewes stars.

Headhunters is a brilliant Swedish thriller. Little bit violent and goes a bit Coen Bros. UK Netflix.

Yeah I liked Headhunters as well. Bit weird to see that guy from Game Of Thrones speaking in his native tongue.

Whoever mentioned Warehouse 13 should be banned from the thread.

Anyone else find Michael Clayton (brilliant film, watch it now) has terrible audio video sync problems? Only tried it on my ps3 but after a few minutes it becomes unwatchable.

I've been watching the Tudors (UK) - never seen it before.

In some ways it reminds me of Game of Thrones - the plotting, intrigue etc. but there's much less violence. Sam Neil is excellent as the scheming Cardinal Wolsey. The show takes some (massive) liberties with history, but is still smart and interesting.

And Natalie Dormer is in it, and she's a goddess.
