I know it's been 2 years since GH stopped and barely a year since the last RB game came out (RB Blitz) but honestly I kinda miss the series. Yes I know Activision ran the GH series into the ground with too many releases 2009 but honestly I wish there was a new GH game coming out cause I love being able to play songs I've heard for so long on the games as well as find new songs to like.

Anyone else here miss the series?

I think it would work well as a series spaced out with one or two games a generation.

Problem is by running into the ground they have made it a fad rather than a series.

I love it though. And would definitely enjoy another one in a couple of years.

I think they just needed to reduce the price of the DLC. Make the game a platform and release songs at a quid each rather than a new game every 10 months.

    I miss it. :(

I could go for another one now, but every 3 months or whatever it was is too much. They have to figure out a way to keep it fresh.

Yep, I've only played the first one on the PS2. I was thinking of looking for a bargain for the Wii only recently.

Miss it? I still play it. They've only just closed the Rock Band store as well.

True they ran it into the ground, but its still great getting the old axe out every now and again after a few beers.

GH: Guns N Roses has always been on the wish list, shame Axel Rose is such is dick otherwise I reckon it might have happened.

The Aerosmith one is pretty good. Of course, I'm a great big giant fan of their early stuff.

Kinda. I used to play it with my mates/girlfriend all the time and had a great laugh with it, but then I had a problem with the stuff imported from Rock Band 2 and 3, and it became a real chore to play. Then my xbox died, and there'd be a lot to download again having replaced it.

The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.

I was never particularly attached to that song, so it didn't bother me.

Plus, I got the game and a new guitar for so cheap that I had no room to complain.

I have been watching a few ion drummer kits and even proper electric drum kits on eBay to use with this. Never got a decent group of us together. Me and my brother was fun though. Do miss it.

Have fond memories of the first one. Lived with 3 friends at the time and not a day would go by without coming back from work to find someone had set a new top score on More Than A Feeling or Ziggy Stardust.

They just over did it all in the end. Plus the track selections got progressively worse bar unique ones like Rock Band AC/DC etc.

Like SingStar, Buzz, Dance Dance Revolution, and even WoW, I miss it in the context of the time I played it. Playing it now would be like attempting to recapture the past, and in my experience that's a very bad idea. I just like leaving them as fond memories of better times.

Funnily enough was thinking about the GH games the other day. Loved GH2. Its actually up there amongst my favourite experiences of this gen. Absolutely hammered the 360 version.

I'm going to have to borrow my mates 360 now so I can have another session on this (sold mine late last year)

GH actually got me into guitar music and playing a real guitar, but I don't really miss it - I've moved on to Rocksmith, which is a lot more satisfying to play :D Give it a try if you can (if you happen to know someone who owns it) - it rocks! (sorry ;))

Two to four player guitar hero will never get dull. That alone makes me think it will return one day

Another vote for Rocksmith here. Much better (though a lot harder) with a real guitar. Feels very similar to GH etc, but you actually learn something!

What spoilt it for me was the massive overpricing of the tracks. And how they pretty much failed to get the GH1+2 tracks onto the 360.

    I'm a grumpy bastard.

I don't miss Rock Band, because the disc hasn't disintegrated and all the tracks I downloaded are still on my hard drive, so if I want to play it I do play it. The way Harmonix supported the game with new DLC tracks for so long rather than putting out a new disc every 4-6 months should be commended.

Also I agree with all the support for Rocksmith, it is a great game and has taught me bass incredibly well.

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

Rocksmith is incredible, I honestly don't think I could go back to Rock Band.

The amount of hours I got out of Rock Band 1, 2 and 3, Beatles and Green Day ones as Guitar Hero 3 though, incredible stuff. So when I say I couldn't go back, it's purely because of the standard I play at on a game that replicates it as opposed to them being shit of course.

I'd rather go back to GH/RB until a game like Rocksmith comes out that handles difficulty a lot better. I'd love Rocksmith a lot more if it didn't have an annoying habit of increasing the difficulty mid song while I'm getting good at it and not even learned the techniques I need to handle the higher difficulty. It's just not balanced well enough for those (like me) who are not that good at the real thing at all

Hopefully Bandfuse is a lot better in that regard

I find the difficulty is pitched perfectly on Rocksmith and I'm a complete novice on guitar. I've never found it to suddenly spike the difficulty way beyond my ability half way through a song, it always felt like a gradual increase.
