    Jedi Mirror's Edge!

I'd rather have a Battlefront sequel than a Battlefield game in Star Wars clothing but it's better than nothing at all.

Not terrible news. Would quite like to play a half decent Star Wars game.

Yeah this means they can stick bioware on a good single player star wars rpg.

Single player KotOR 3 please when you're ready EA, especially as you own the original devs of that series too.

People, even if we got KOTOR3 it would not be single player. EA have an online shoehorn policy remember, you'll get nothing at all that is just single player.

It'll be a co-op KOTOR or one with MP you need to play to a certain ending. If anything now they have whole license they'll try for another MMO.

So Criterion aren't doing any racing games for the foreseeable future, they're not doing another Black, I wonder what they could be doing? Hmm...

edit: or maybe not as it seems to be DICE, Visceral and Bioware, bah what are they going to be doing?

Considering how Lucasarts had stuffed up with the Star Wars IP themselves for many years I can't see EA doing any worse really.

Although hopefully they'll make interesting titles rather than anything like the snorefest that is SWTOR.

I came in just to post "can't do any worse than LucasArts", but I see Whizzo beat me to it.

Seeing that the brand's already been run into the ground, it's guardedly good news.

Well i'd definitely buy a dice made battlefront day 1.

Does any of this mean we'll get to see 1313?

    Great news.

Considering the studios they're putting to work on it, there's no way we won't get at least one good Star Wars game.

What it does mean though is that now as well as Star Wars Films every other year, we'll get countless Star Wars Mobile/Console/Portable games coming in every year too. It's going to be Star Wars overkill for a good few years to come.

Bioware are still towing the line that SWTOR is Kotor 4, 5 and 6, to the point where they pick up the dangling story threads from those games. Don't expect KOTOR3 anytime soon.

I'd personally like something a bit ambitious - not an FPS, not the uncharted in sw skin that 1313 looked like, and not KOTOR3. If they managed to meld GTA/TES open world gameplay, with divergent career paths like choosing to be a bounty hunter, smuggler, etc, across multiple planets like coruscant, nabboo, tatooine, etc and stick it between ESB and ROTJ then it could be very interesting, if done right and given plenty of dev time that doesn't just focus on cashing in on the name, but using it to enhance the underlying game.

A DICE-made Battlefront would be fucking immense. Battlefield is being heavily pushed at the moment, to compete with Call of Duty, and I think there's a good chance of Battlefield becoming the more dominant series in the next round of consoles. So they'll probably be making nothing but Battlefield games for the next 6 years at least.

    @bad09

Disney have retained MMO rights it seems, along with mobile.

Personally I think this is a good thing, last lucasfilm games were shite.   Now a tie fighter or x-wing game reboot would be awesome.
