Insomniac's 4 player co op shooter. Looks like it could be their last game. What the hell happened to the awesome looking Overstrike?

I'd be interested if it was local co-op, but I expect it's online only.

Also, while it looked better, I want exactly blown away by OverStrike either.

I don't think it'll be their last game, but I can't see it being particularly successful either - the gameplay might shine, but everything from a marketing and design perspective looks and feels as generic and forgettable as possible. Plus it's EA Partners publishing, which means there's about an 80% chance they'll send it out to die with no marketing.

If shit gets really bad for Insomniac, hopefully Sony buys them out and gets them to work on a new IP.

Why do you think it'll be their last game?

To be fair, shit seems to sell pretty well at times.

I'm not sure what to make of this game. I do like the look of it but I definitely wont be getting it at launch. The reviews should be interesting.

    It's quite fun

    Syndicate-Borderlands (slightly)-Gears-MGS vibe.

Looks and feels good, but I'm bored to death of shooters. Some nice coop mechanics seem to be in place though.

Yeah, could see picking this up at some point, it's in what RedSparrows calls the "sub 20 EG lols" category of games, by the feel of it.

Might be better than I'm giving it credit for, have only really played with the wavy-shield guy. Found the 'press button to do cutscene' broke up the flow a bit of the demo, too.

Feels like the controls of Binary Domain more than anything, with some special powers, the co-op flow of Syndicate (with added cutscenes) and some big-ish robot enemies that initially looked interesting but turned out to predominantly be bullet sponges.

The 'campaign' demo lets you flit between each of the four co-op party members at will, and it has drop-in drop-out friends possession of them.

Maybe I'm missing something clever that it is doing? It does seem completely generic, 'fuse' gadgets aside.

This is how I feel too.

I am still flabbergasted at the artistic changes, seeing as the game, which was initially called 'Overstrike', we saw before this one looks far more pleasing whereas this is ... just okay.

... problem is, after BioShock Infinite, everything is crap basically.

I've just finished playing the demo with a friend. I'd not heard much about it previously so found some of the guns and gadgets to be quite interesting (trying to chain singularities with the Warp Rifle is good fun), but other than that it's completely generic unfortunately. I'll probably pick it up when it's 10 or 15 unless it get's glowing reviews.

I thought that was quite cool.

Not the most polished game around, but it has a few interesting things about it and it really does seem to be Brute Force 2. Which is good because I quite enjoyed the old one.

    Just tried it.

Its good, definitely got a lot of potential. I like the fact that the co-op isnt just there for the sake of it, it actually encourages teamwork and its more fun to play when you combine powers with a different character.

Think ill predict an EG 7/10.

Where did this game come from? I first heard about it yesterday when I saw the trailer on VG247. I'll have to play the demo tonight, I do like me some co-op.

We Could have a mess about with a team of 4 EGers ?
I have not downloaded yet, but will do tomorrow, I assume* most are going for the 360 version

*by that I mean I always go for the 360 over the ps3 versions, due to having more chums on the 360.

    S'nice, s'not bad, s'nothing special.

It COULD be special IF: the story is bonkersly nuts a la MGS but without the dire cutscenes and story-telling. Just mega mechs and stupid crazy bosses. IF the co-op is difficult and really requires team-play, and IF it offers lots of replayability.

Played the demo (at least 2 parts) this morning, good fun. I loved the Resistance games and you can tell by playing, the same company has made this.
Played alone and the AI seemed fine, the switching team members was fast and fluid. I like the Mechs.

It is already on the lovefilm rental list.

Demo was ok, not a day one purchase. Rental yes.

Rather someone brings out a next gen version of the old Xbox game Brute Force

The demo seems okay, in terms of gameplay I have no complaints, but the game lacks a hook, the story and characters are like something from a 90s game where having a bit of 'tude' in the voice acting was considered job done.

It's just not interesting enough to be something I want to spend time and money on unless it's going for a real knockdown price.

It also reminded me of SyphonFilter...not too sure why.

Now there is a game (series) we could do with a remake/HD ports of, the first 3 games on PS were and still are excellent.
The psp games were also top notch.

Ha ha, just noticed this evening that those daft cunts EA want 60 to download this from PSN. It's like the fuckers actually want it to fail.
