Same with the Mario thread really, what direction do you hope Nintendo takes with the new Zelda? Cell Shaded or something more realistic? Again thoughts for the use of the gamepad?

I hope there's a boomerang in the first dungeon.

The Gamepad will be perfect for having some kind of fairy/elf that constantly tells you exactly what you should be doing, how much health you have left and what you just picked up for the five hundredth time. They literally never have to stop doing it now!

I think the gamepad would be great for "guiding" the boomerang as you hold it aloft your goofy face.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

Is really think it needs a kick up the arse, but I'm not sure how. The whole, "get item, go into dungeon, get piece of whatever, repeat" is pretty tedious. The formula needs to be shaken up.

Hope it's got that kid with the green hat in it. Zelda. He's good.

There better be a minigame where you can use the Gamepad to tickle, stroke and slap Tingle's scrotum in exchange for prizes.

I'd actually like to see something like a Zelda set in the modern world or a bit futuristic perhaps. Just as a once in a lifetime excursion from the regular fantasy world. I'm curious how they'd make that work. Graphical Style would preferably be more on the realism side then I'd say.

Just like Enchanted? It would have to be a musical too.

I've been dreaming of a truly good zelda game...

There's one thing that's always been missing from the games

No not cell shaded, not Monet style, make it realistic style but make the designs breath the magic into it.

A true Zelda game has a open world you can explore on foot with secrets aplenty. It had some sort of dual nature. I would like to see some sort of life and death dichotomy, link has to travel to the land of the dead Orpheus style to rescue Zelda and his actions in that realm affect people back in the land of the living.

The dungeons in TP/OoT were perfect so more of the same. Perhaps with more optional side dungeons and a less linear structure.

    No waggle.

FPS or TPS though? TPS would make a nice change. Iron sights would be quite innovative, and an improved reload system 'cos the last one was crap.

Something a bit more... adult would be nice.

If you get where I'm coming from.

I agree. Nintendo has to appeal to an adult audience at some point, rather than the usual Nintendo babies, so it has to have headshots. And blood-splashes. And ragdoll effects.

Some of you need to realise that you've grown out of the target audience.

(and possibly gaming as a whole...)

Zelda's the one where you ride a horse around, right? Fine - keep the horse in so as to keep the young ones happy, but add horse-mounted cannon with Iron Sights to appeal to the adult audience. This stuff isn't hard you know.

I wouldn't mind seeing them tackle a different style, like maybe steampunk or a more mature fantasy game world with knights and royalty and political intrigue and whatnot. In fact, I think I almost certainly have grown out of being the target audience. I'll wait for The Witcher 3 instead.

Yes, I agree. Changing up the setting would be great. Steam punk I like.

Incorporate all timelines from all Zelda games into it, and all art styles, so you have a giant, meta universe where all of the Links over the generations team up against some sort of interdimensional enemy. It's very comic-book-ey, but whatever... take advantage of all the history the series has.

I don't care what they do as long as they put the surprise back into the series. The best Zelda games have been the ones where you really didn't know what to expect. Trick us into playing as Gannon by doing a dimension shift or something, but surprise me this time.

You know what this game needs? A temple of some description filed with water. A "water temple" if you will.
