Now I am talking about true gaming dedication. Like going out and buying you 1st console (not a gift/present bought by somebody else)? not using your mum or dads Debit/Credit Card. Using your own Hard Earned Cold Cash! (not including traded/2nd hand, it has to be Brand New Factory Seal)

Now, it does not have to be a Console you could have bought a PC, or built a PC from scratch.

Setember 1987 was first console I bought was the Sega Master System, and I remember standing outside Woolworths freezing my backside off. Back then Pre-Ordering wasn't around (or at least thats what I remember), I was 15 years old and had been working in the garage with my Grandad on Saturdays for about a year. I was so excited at the time. For 2 years I had been playing Pac-Man, Missile Command and Frogger on my old Atari, we didn't have much when I was younger, but to own a console made me quite popular at school.

    So.....what do you remember?

My earliest memory is playing Chucky Egg on my Dads BBC computer, more so watching my older cousins playing it. First console was the NES with Mario Bros / Duckhunt probably in 1990, so was 4 at the time.

Also remember outside the house, my Dad used to run a Petrol station and had a Police game on one of the computers where you had to type the commands in, that was awesome.

Since FFVII. Played games before (Dad had a PC, Amiega etc. and friends all had SNESs etc.) but nothing ever grabbed my interested as much as this. Gave me an appreciation of gaming - beyond jumping on a turtle's head whic really just did nothing for me - that I still have today even if nothing has come close to it since.

Age and experience should ultimately lead to the conclusion that games are a bit shit and not worth obsessing over.

True gaming dedication? What the hell is that?

Shame this true dedication comes only with your own money to, I loved my speccy, Amiga and MD and my current PC. All were bought for me but just don't count :(

If were talking about the 1st console I spent hard money, then mine would be a ps2. I was gonna say DC but thinking back my dad got me that for my 18th. Love you dad

I've seen game systems you people wouldn't believe. Acorn Electrons on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-64s glitter in the dark near the Commodore gate. All those consoles will be lost in time, like tears in rain....

    Time to die.
