True, maybe we shouldn't.
edit: although the kind of stuff I created this thread originally for is often made by the most fucked up "artists".

Not trying to distract from the topic of this thread, which is politics in extreme music, and mainly black metal.
How far does it go, how far should it go, and how deeply is it entrenched?

This is one of the prime black metal vocalists, and this picture is a good symbol of the whole matter. To me it seems like the black metal community tries to ignore/trivialise it. But imo it should be adressed honestly.

Been mostly lurking on this thread - some great bands I've never heard of on the last page, nice! Not 'metal' as such, but seeing as Swans got a shout, Jarboe should rear her head
And I firmly believe this is one of the most haunting, beautiful pieces of music ever written. Lisa Gerrard = unreal. Practically moves me to tears if I sit and really listen to it.
That brings back memories. I listened to Serpent's Egg and Within the Realm of a Dying Sun to death back in the 80s - for some reason they transport me back to pitch black cold winter mornings doing my paper round with my walkman!
Every note of those albums is burned into my brain. For me DCD have never recorded anything quite as good since then.
