CNET sat down with Eiji Aonuma to talk about the game.

I tried downloading a codec from CNET a couple of days ago. Spent the next 3 hours hunting out malware that neither Norton or Avast could find. That website can burn in hell.

Whoa. I didn't know that, should I take down the link? Didn't CNET used to do "Download . com"? Is that what you are referring to?

What? This forum automatically converts .com like words into links?

Yeah. I'm on about the download. com stuff they do. Articles and such should be fine. Just don't ever download anything from them.

Not trying to suggest you're an idiot, in the slightest, a genuine question: you didn't click on anything which said "Download Now" on it, did you?

Might sound stupid, but their download pages are plastered with ads and they pretty much all say "Download Now" on them; the daft thing is, the actual links to download what you're after is usually a text link saying something like "Right-click here if download fails to start automatically", meanwhile you have a sea of buttons begging you to click on them...

@YenRug No. Nothing like that. I'm aware of the adverts that are so cheekishly placed, but they normally forward you on before you download anything.

Edit - I've downloaded from them a ton of times, though not in the past few years. I just got myself a new laptop and wanted to get hold of some codecs. Should have payed attention to the file size.

I think it is nigh on time this thread was bumped as well as being renamed to the official title of, 'The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds'.

A new video showing this lovely game in motion!

... 22nd of November, we'll be playing this.

    : )

p.s. Why is this the only forum on PLANET EARTH that doesn't allow anything YouTube related to work?

Took me a while to work out YouTube links as well. :)

Not sure what to think about the item renting. I liked the Awakening et al system of discovering a new item and wandering off to see what now opened up to you. Still, looks lovely. Top down Zelda is my favourite kind.

When you hit the YouTube button and this comes up:

    [ youtube id=Put_ID_here ]

    You put this:

    rhtFoHHXVSE

    In here:

    [ youtube id=rhtFoHHXVSE ]

Now fingers crossed putting spaces in stops it from parsing the link...

I for one like the renting idea. Anything that makes a change from the usual Zelda formula is fine by me.

It also hints at a more open Zelda - not quite Dark Souls or Skyrim levels of course, but the idea that you're free to go wherever you want, and gathering items and attempting a dungeon/area on your own terms, might be the direction the series heads towards in the future.

I've been burned too many times on console launches, I've got tons to be getting on with anyway. I only got a PS3 two days ago so that should keep me busy for a good year or so.

The "pre-order" treasure chest is no longer a pre-order bonus:

    http://www.game.co.uk/en/the-legend-of-zelda-a-link-btween-world-game-exclusive-collectors-edition-245951

    Now part of a 50 Collector's Edition...

@YenRug i would buy that in seconds, if nintendo hadn't already given me links awakening for free

if they changed that to a link to the past download code, i would snap their hand off
