It's looking like a possibility, after a Spanish online retailer seems to have accidentally listed it for sale just 24 hours before the event:

I saw this on a news site as well. I pray it's true and if it's true, I pray even harder that they're making an epic collector's edition out of it. But it might be just random speculation at any rate to get some hype up for tommorow. I'm not getting my hopes up too high....probably...XD

While you're praying, can you bung in a quick one for some actual new games rather than fucking remakes. Ta.

Yes because there's only remakes on the 3DS right? Think I'll put a prayer in there for your eyesight instead.

I've not actually played majora's mask, so this would be quite good for me.

I think they need to get a new Zelda on the 3DS before releasing this but I wouldn't say no. I tried it a couple times on the GC Zelda anniversary disc thingy but couldn't get into it. The way everybody talks about it makes me think I must have missed something and a new lick of paint could help me see it.

But yeah, a new Zelda first please!

Well, considering that the Ocarina of Time remake was handled by an outside company, I don't think that Majora's Mask puts a new one at risk in any way if they're following the same route with it. If anything they're probably using it to bridge a gap to a new one since that might still take a while, Zelda games generally do.

Well look at it this way Nintendo. If you do a New Zelda, i'll buy a 3DS, where as remaking Majora's Mask (as much as I loved it the first time around) and I won't.

And I reckon i'm not the only one like this.

I never got to play Majora's Mask so I would definitely buy it.

I'd love a new Zelda too. Maybe they'll do a 3ds WiiU crossover one.

Given they had someone else do the Ocarina port, I doubt very much they're using their own people to do the port of Majora's. So given that, I've little doubt they're also developing new Zelda themselves - it's not like having Grezzo doing Majora stops that :)

So given that, I'm all for it. It's a great opportunity for people like me and jonsaan who never played it, and it shouldn't really affect whatever Nintendo are developing themselves. Though to be fair I'm still playing Ocarina for the first time so I can wait.

A port of MM was always a shoe-in after OoT's success, and out of the two it's arguably more deserving of a port, as so many people seemed to have missed it the first time around. Not to mention the fact that's probably aged a lot better too.

I missed OoT and MM first time round. I loved playing OoT, so i'm all up for this. My friend had an N64, and i watched him play small bits of OoT thats how close i got to it and MM. All i had was links awakening for my gameboy.

@Kay Funnily enough, MM has aged far worse than OOT. Fingers crossed for this. Online petitions FTW ;)

Never played Mm so wouldn't mind it. Although am sure they're cranking out another remake I mean sequel as I type.

Hope it does get a release my N64 was long gone before MM came out. I would much rather a new top down 2D one though.

Really? Unlike OoT, MM's premise and mechanics are still mostly unique for the series. The main things that were criticised at the time of its release - the save system, the three-day cycle and focus on side-quests - are exactly the sort of fresh ideas that the series needs now.

Still have my gold MM cartridge (boxed and everything) :D Not sure whether I'd buy it for the 3DS though since I didn't like it first time round for the same reasons Kay just mentioned.

Having said that, I did buy OoT 3D for my 3DS, even though I already own it twice already (N64 cart and as part of the Windwaker special edition)...

Visually. It was pushing the tech back then (it required the expansion pak) but even then they had to scale back textures and the like to fit all in.

Couple of minutes to go until we find out if this is true, or not.

Well, no Majora's Mask, instead we've got a new Zelda 3DS game based in the world of Link to the Past; top-down view but with depth and occasional shifts in the camera viewpoint. There's going to be a 3D video trailer to download from the eshop soon, best way to see what they're doing is to see that.

Close but no cigar. New Zelda title set in the same version of Hyrule as A Link To The Past.

Looks pretty decent but would have preferred MM tbh.

    Want both :(

Surely MM is a no brainer? It's a licence to print money ffs.
