Pushing the boundaries of practicality even farther than the Note.

I love my Note but don't think I'd want it to be any bigger.

How well has the Note 2 sold? There must be a perceived market for these types of phones. For me, I love my galaxy s3 but not sure I could go any bigger.

Our month-long focus on indie games starts with my look at the PS4's best game (still): Resogun!

The Note is about the right balance. Yeah, it is big and you look like a twat making a call, but it's great for movies and games and shit like that and I imagine there's a few business types using them now as well.

But there are limits, and 6.3" is just impractical. And it doesn't include a stylus, which is a big plus point for the Note.

We'll end up evolving MASSIVE HANDS if this goes on. Good news for swimmers and people who carry things.

When I was looking to buy a new phone recently I was planning on getting the lumia 920, but it's massive (and expensive) so was put off... It's a shame because almost all of the top end phones are now huge and look ridiculous in my womanly hands.

And, more to the point, don't fit in a pocket very well. Ok for all you ladies with handbags, I guess though.

From what I could tell, it's only really the Galaxy 3 Mini and HTC... something something X... or something which are any cop in the 'sensibly sized' Android phone category.

The HTC One is 4.7-inches, but even that might be too much for some. It's a shame no one is doing a 4-ish-inch handset with decent specs. The S3 Mini is a nice size but hardware is a little weak.

It's not that bad, really - it's run everything I've asked of it so far. There has to be some kind of pay off for the size, after all. It was certainly equivalent to the comparably sized HTC as well - I guess there's only so much they can fit in the space.

Edit: I think it's the HTC SV which was their 4.3 screened phone.

More to the point, don't hold his stylus for him.

    Nexus 7: 198.5 x 120 x 10.56 mm

    251.54 cm^3

    GALAXY Mega 6.3: 167.6 x 88 x 8.0 mm

    117.99 cm^3

    GALAXY Note II: 151.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm

    114.34 cm^3

    GALAXY Note: 143.85 x 82.95 x 9.65 mm (My current phone)

    115.15 cm^3

So, it's not drastically bigger than the Notes (so far), so BBC saying it's only a little smaller than the Nexus 7 is only really referring to the actual size of the screen. Considering the rumours of a Note III have said that it will have a 6.3" screen as well, means it could be do-able, though the rumours have also said that it will have practically no bezel which would make it smaller again.
