People that care enough to vote on mass for this are no doubt, gamers on forums.

Don't feel bad for EA though.

Peter Moore: “Are we really the ‘Worst Company in America?’ I’ll be the first to admit that we’ve made plenty of mistakes. These include server shut downs too early, games that didn’t meet expectations, missteps on new pricing models and most recently, severely fumbling the launch of SimCity. We owe gamers better performance than this.”

Is that it mate? So you pretty much fucked everything up customer care wise, and you are still asking why people are putting the boot in?

People shouldn't be so up in arms about it. They are merely sending EA a message. Whether they do something with that or not, is up to them and the question if they deserve it or not, is not really that relevant. But the consequence of inaction in this regard, means they'll have less and less people buying their products as you can see in their financial results.

Also, folks should read http://consumerist.com/2013/04/05/ea-admits-it-can-do-better-but-blames-worst-company-success-on-homophobes-and-whiny-madden-fans/ in response to Peter Moore.

Exactly, it's merely a measure of how annoyed the internet is with a certain brand at the moment. It has nothing to do with social issues, it's a poll from a website called the "Consumerist" (i.e. consumers/shoppers) and the award is a golden poo! It's not forbes et al

Not only did they "win" again, they are the first to "win" twice and got 78% of the total votes :)

Ah poor EA, it is silly they win this thing but my god it's lovely they get shown up like that as they really are terrible and while these things tend to change they are pretty much the scum of the industry at the moment.

I would have some sympathy for them but I'm broke so can't take advantage of those micro-tranactions to boost my care meter. Mind you the EA care server shut down recently anyway so I'll probably just stick with my online pass to laughter.

That and they have no impulse control. You'd think not buying EA games would have a bigger effect but then they'd have nothing to do in between games.

Crazy how EA threw it all away. Perceived as the lightweight gaming experience, tie-in company... turned it all around by making FIFA the premium football game its presentation alluded to, and winning gamers over with ... actual games that were fresh and exciting.

Only for their new strategy to be everything that "us lot" want least from gaming. Obviously that is where the money is for them though. I seem to remember Dead Space & Mirrors Edge reviewing well and selling little. Why bother to make good new games if it doesn't make money.

It's not even that. Angry nerds don't represent "The Internet" as a whole.

This is basically one of those examples of when a tiny group win a poll through virtue of nobody else giving a fuck. Like when Lord of the Rings one that best ever novel survey.

He kind of has a point there!

I was pretty much going to write something very similar in this thread but he has pretty much got there ahead of me.

Although he could probably add international arms dealers as other companies that are slightly worse than EA.

First Great Western are also a worse company than EA, although I very much doubt they have a US wing.

Ummm, if I'm not mistaken, people have stopped buying EA's games, which is why their CEO just "stepped down."

Shirley they didn't cancel MOH and make SWOTOR F2P because they were doing well? I know they also touted SimCity's 1.1m in the first 2 weeks, but imo I thought that was modest at best, especially considering that after the first 2 weeks game sales typically plummet.

Whenever there is a new idea of how to generate revenue streams, why is it always EA that test the water?

Since I'm not really an EA customer, I don't have much in the way of complaints. Though, I suppose their screw-ups are relatively high impact versus something equally dreadful like Konami's woeful handling of Silent Hill releases in 2012 which didn't effect as many people.

Have someone of you know between which companies EA is the worst? EA is the only GAMING company in this "competition", so the choice is like between "1" and "1". What you choose in this situation, of course "1", cause nothing to choose. EA and Bank of America what a stupid choice. It's like to compare the ice-cream and crawbar, car and t-shirt. I'm not defending EA, just trying to explain the failure of comparision. This is anti PR.

You gotta think about it. Companies like Amazon or Apple only make the lives of their slaves miserable. EA makes our lives miserable.

More so than before, that is.
