Having had the pleasure of actually being in Mugello for the races over the last couple of years that was absolutely awful. Bautista proving once again what a liability he is at this level and denying any proper spectacle; dull, insipid and yawn inducing 'racing'.

Spent most of it contemplating the crispy pulled pork you can buy from the vendors.

yeah a pretty boring race, livened up with 5 laps to go really with cal on the prowl but dull. gaps opened up with a couple of laps.

Well, what a surprise win! Annoying that it was hidden on the red button. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, given everything else going on this weekend.

    Bollocks! Missed it!
Need to avoid all mention of the result until I can see it on iPlayer.

    Cracking start to USA GP.

What's happened to Bradl these two races?

Marquez is extraordinary. Passing Rossi at the corkscrew bit by cutting the corner, going through the dirt and over the kerb and then keeping the position! I thought if these bikes go off the tarmac, they're in trouble!

Yeah, awesome race. I guess you can get away with it there cos the ground doesn't seem excessively loose, and while he did corner on it he entered that corner before going off road and exited it back on tarmac. That and because it's so dramatically downhill you're less likely to rev the rear wheel and kick up the dirt.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Looked more like concrete on the close-ups. Risky all the same!

Scary clash between Haydn and Dovizioso. 160mph doing that!!

I guess the BBC know that they're losing Moto GP to BT at the end of the season, so they're probably thinking 'why bother?'.
Excellent race, though I missed the first few mins. What was up with Crutchlow - he seemed a bit of the pace, especially given his recent stellar performances?

Love seeing Rossi back at the sharp end again!

Reckon the season's going to come down to 'Who's still fit enough to ride a bike for the last few races?' The injury count is mindboggling!

the sad factof it is that the coverage is actually better than it used to be. a few seasons back the started the coverage a second or so AFTER the race began.

So Cal has got himself a factory Ducati deal. Good job...I hope its not a poisoned chalice for him though. They've been difficult beasts to tame recently.

Cracking race at Brno yesterday. That's the first time I've seen Marquez put under some real pressure, and the kid done good!

I can see Dani Pedrosa thinking 'Umm, this wasn't in the script.' Mind you - no-one at Honda can be complaining about a 1-2 finish.

Poor old Crutchlow though. All that work to get a pole, and he's in the lead for approximately 4 seconds. And then he dumps it.
He's a grafter though - really hope things work out for him at Ducati. Be a real shame to see him going round and coming in 8th or 9th on a factory bike when he's been up the sharp end on a satellite machine.

Missed it. Hope I find some time to catch up. Sounds like competition is getting closer in MotoGP.

Brem - it's up on iPlayer until Saturday if you can get to it. Despite me giving away the result, it's well worth watching. Particularly the last half a dozen laps.

Oh man. What a weird incident. Can't quite work out what happened there. Great racing up 'til that point.

I still think that Marquez clipped Dani, just the way his back tire went from under him.

Looked like it. Put him off-balance perhaps? It looked like he put the power on even though he was off-balance, and lost it.

I don't ride, so I'm guessing really. Nice to see Rossi on the podium!

Qualifying for Valencia about to start. Nothing to look forward to with F1? There's something of a cliffhanger to be had here. Maybe.

THere is an unbelievably good race going on at the moment. If you've got the slightest interest in motorsport, BBC2.

Oh I'd forgotten - that's it from the BBC too. I do hope BT aren't crap. Whatever BT do will be a sign of what they'll probably do in the future: steal F1.

What a season for Marquez. Deserved that and pissed off Lorenzo in the process.

My prediction for BT MotoGP will be Matt and Azi will be picked up for grid presenting and the EuroSport commentators will get a gig. Toby Moody is a great person, full of passion and knowledge. Much better than Parrish and Charlie.
