    Leap Motion

It's nearly here and I'm quite excited for this cool little gadget, I saw it posted on here ages ago in another thread but can't remember which one but I feel it deserves its own thread.

I can see it making touch screen monitors redundant.

I think it was in the Occulus Rift thread.

I've ordered one of these, I hope I am not disappointed.

Just be honest, you want to pretend at being Johnny Mnemonic don't you?

It's really cool and everything but right now I can't come close to justifying spending a good 50 on something like it.

Got mine delivered today, the technology works fine but the software is a bit more variable. The app for controlling windows works, but needs more development before it's a touchscreen replacement - the pushing forwards to click reduces accuracy and I'd prefer one finger for pointer and the other for click (might be able to change this). Haven't tried many apps yet as the downloads from their app store are a bit slow currently.

What I do love is the Maya 2014 plugin, I've already created expressions to turn round 3D models Iron Man style (ok, with fingers at the moment rather than hands as it's more accurate..) and it exposes a lot of the low level data so lots of stuff to play around with.

I've given my leap motion to my wife. I can't be arsed with it atm. Too busy and not sure I have a use for it yet.

Definitely give Dropchord a go if you've got one, it works suprisingly well considering the tracking overall leaves a bit to be desired.

Installing mine now. I've been reading about it, and I'm getting the feeling I'm going to be... Underwhelmed :(

I thought this and windows 8 rather than windows 8 and a touch screen.

    I don't have windows 8, so I'm a bit 'why' too

Suddenly there needs to be a reason to have things? People buy the most pointless stuff and claim they can't live without it all the time!

This is pretty cool. Not too expensive either.

For Windows 7 it is a bit. Windows 8 however could be more useful.
