sony's devs are most important i'd say.

i can see a new round of forza, PGR and halo coming for the 720...

and nintendo just endlessly rehash mario/zelda etc. as good as they are, there's only so much you can do.
How is Killzone and Gran Turismo any different to a new Forza and Halo?
Plus we haven't even seen the next box lineup yet.
But what games they are is besides the point, it's the fact they base them on being good games to sell consoles, not as botched mechanics to drive in game transactions to proceed

funny, I play COD pretty chilled, cause you know, dying happens quite fast. You basically pay the cash to get most deaths out of the game;))

but if I lose a close game on Tekken Tag 2, then I can swear like a idiot. but with the headset off, and without sending hate messages like the ones I get, when I win a close game.

I get that they're trying to psyche out their opponents, but still... they do sound like mongs.

    Also, Isn't COD-II an 18-cert game?

    I'm a grumpy bastard.

Nop. The pool is smaller of course, but they're mega stars competing in multi-million prize pool tournaments with sponsorship money coming out their arse.

You'd think after 15 years 'The West' would be somewhere near it, but no.

How often have you seen that same pure aggression between two teams on a football pitch? How often has a football match degenerated into extended bouts of extreme swearing and threats aimed directly at the opposition players over something as minor as a missed pass or a goalie save?

A lot of footballers now are cheating, unprofessional, selfish, greedy pricks. But they are not even remotely on the same level as these complete wankers when it comes to antisocial twattery.

To be fair, you would have to make up a new word to describe how keen they are on starcraft. Even CoD doesnt have that level of following.

League of Legends has a far bigger player/prize pool, it's not just Starcraft. That's actually 3rd or 4th.

Exactly... This level of dickery is seen nowhere else! Maybe on the NFL field when players over-celebrate a big tackle/block.TD but that's normally not directed at another team/player and if it is, there's a penalty and a fine, because, you know, that's not within the spirit of the game.

The only place where there's this sort of behaviour is in wrestling... Which isn't a sport, is fake and they're all acting out the aggression anyway. So not comparable at all.

On the same level as that CoD tourney vid and for such a prolonged period?

I'd love to see some examples...

That's the same kind of 'mind games' comedy insult that's prevalent across all professional sports though.

I have never seen a cricket match descend into:

    Batter: ARRGH! You fucking PRICK!

Bowler: Fuck you you fucking cunt. You're just fucking shit.

Batter: I'm going to fucking AVE you in a second.

Bowler: Bring it you fat fuck. Eat this ball cuntfuck.

Batter: YEEEAAAH BOYEEEEE! Ave that you fucking dickhead!
... continue for whole day's test.

No. Its extreme, i'll give you that but they are just trying to psyche out their opponents. While they are acting like twats, the level of fuss being made about it is absolutely astonishing.

Sexism, as seen above, is a far bigger issue than dickheads swearing at each other.
