The three strongest in game 1 haven't actually been attacked properly yet...

He says, before the massive invasion of France

I've done an attack! Against an enemy that has no commander, but that counts! Though I have a sneaking suspicion that once the UK and other armies on the run are chased down, someone else is getting hunted as we've got some powerful countries just now.

I do hope not, it'd be nice to have a united European victory :)

You can propose a draw after 1905.

    Hippy!

Game 3 seems to have stalled...
Not many messages and awaiting order finalisation...

It's often the case. Lots of messaging and then, once alliances or pacts are made, it goes very quiet.

The stalling can sometimes be because a player is waiting to hear back from another player. Usually for something dastardly.

I hope that puts your mind at rest Alastair.

Yeah, it's nothing to worry about, someone will just be plotting your downfall :)

I've assumed that they've been plotting my downfall since the game started!

The site had been playing silly buggers on my phone today, and I've been busy, so I've not finalised. I'll get on it when I get home.

So how do I convoy troops across water?

Say I have troops in Belgium, a fleet in the English Channel, and I wanted to move the troops to London how would I do it? Just give the convoy order to the fleet to convoy Belgium to London, or do I have to give an order to the troops as well?

You have to give the orders to the troops first and then the fleet. Well, that's what I've been doing at least and it seems to work.

It doesn't matter which order you do the orders in.

E.g. Brest army move to Wales
Fleet English channel convoy army Brest to wales

    The order doesn't matter:
    Army BEL to LON
Fleet ENG Convoy BEL to LON

The same 'start to destination' would apply if you we're doing a chain convoy as well.

Looks like we've had our first attempt at a stab in Game 2, with Italy trying to invade me and Austria. It's getting interesting now :)

It's interesting, everybody talked peace and everybody acted with war as intent. Human nature. Still, I don't apologise for what I did. I did what had to be done.

The most important rule in this game is that just because you have an alliance, or even an enemy, it doesn't mean it will always last. It's worth bargaining with someone even after they have betrayed you, as priorities can easily change.

I realised that, but I certainly wasn't expecting Italy to go for 2 targets at once! I did expect them to go for me at one point as I'm the easier target and most obvious route for Italian expansion. I just didn't expect them to go for Austria at the same time.

Germany are the only likely one, but they never made a move, plus they could decimate me on their own!

"Brutal Backstabbing" doesn't have the same ring to it.

But I don't know about any other players/games, but I've done an awful lot of diplomacy so far, and no-one has been anywhere near my supply centres yet so it must be at least sort of working...

I built too many ships to be a real threat. It's really tough to manoeuvre them around.

Who is holding up game 3...? Only an hour to go. Normally it's so quick.

You built a lot of fleets as Germany? Why...? Britain and Italy rely on their fleets, and they are useful for France and Turkey to have a reasonable amount, but the other nations can get away with only have a couple until much later in the game.

I imagine a lot of player will be a lot wiser in their seconds games if they still want to play. I know I made a tonne of mistakes in my first game (IRL) that I have managed to avoid in the current one
