Nabbed it to go in my pile of shame, at that price it's rude not to really 5 weeks after release and on the back of a hefty patch, tat edition too. Hope it's something I can find the time for.

I have the digital soundtrack from my PC backer edition, but it is nice to have the physical OST. The music in this is great.

I picked this up cheap a couple of weeks ago and am finding it a bit hard going to be honest.

I like a good yarn in my RPGs as much as the next nerd, but usually there’s something there to split it up a little. This is just an unrelenting barrage of text that has just caused me to lose the will to continue.

Hmmmn that may be a little off putting. Anyway it appears simply have cancelled my order after payment as obviously they oversold it. Well that's that then.

It's as much a novel as a game, that's for sure. You have to love reading to love the game. Or at least be in the mood for it to play it.

Definitely not one to unwind with after a shit day at work, I've found. :)

Why not just order it from ShopTo Chief? Surely two quid is worth not having to piss about.

True but I'm tight lol, I've actually just seen boomerang selling it new for 14.84,via Amazon so I've ordered there.

I assume they are all day one editions, as it didn't sell that many day one lol. Glad to hear the music is decent, I don't mind heavily story based games but finding the time when I'm in the right frame of mind for that can be challenging.

I almost doubledipped (Kickstarter backer) for the day 1 stuff and ordered from Amazon as I have a tenner credit. Now of course it has gone up from 15 quid to 18 so it can wait...

So my cheap copy arrived (huzzah) fully sealed day one ed, which is nice as I panicked a bit if either of the above wouldn't be the case.

Anyway, can anyone confirm any last patch improvements on console as it got a hard time from reviewers who didn't like it because of these issues.

Wondering whether it needs another patch before I open it up.

Picked up the Day One edition of this on ps4 yesterday, for a ridiculous €9.99. Really enjoying it so far, that being said I've only just gone past the tutorial :)

I've seen that on the PS Store. Worth picking up then?

I ordered a copy from Game for that price as a Christmas present for someone, and it definitely wasn't new. At best I'd say it was ex-display, despite having said it was new.

    @Tuffty

Definitely, if you like old-school rpgs. Very text-heavy, which isn't a bad thing, was relieved that the font is very legible on a large TV as my eyes aren't the best :)

Given the reported length of the game and the replay value, fantastic value for a tenner.

I did get a few hours in this a few weeks ago. It's quite nice but I've not had a massive draw to go back after a few sessions though. That being said that's about the norm for me.

@Bichii Hmm, hard for me to give any really as it's unlike most other RPGs, it's very story/lore heavy. So just be sure you have the right surroundings to focus on it. Maybe someone who's completed it may be able to give the benefit of hindsight.

You create your character, but you use your stat points to influence skill checks on your actions which will then need replenishing. I've gone generally combat free so your style may vary considerably. Theres quite a bit of scope from the start and can be one of those games that you'll sweat over your setups to begin with if you are like me. Ultimately I believe it's totally open as to how you can develop your character iirc.

Ive had this on disc for xbox one sitting on a shelf for ages, but have yet to play it beyond the first 20 minutes. Planescape is my all time favourite rpg.

    Does Numenera measure up?

Couldn't say, didn't play planescape although it appears I did pick it up in a d&d bundle I bought I think.

The writing isn't quite as good in Numenera, but it's not too far off and the world and gameplay are about as close as you're going to get.

Bought this in the PS4 sale and am about 6 hours in. Really enjoying it so far... it is a lot of reading but I'm finding that really refreshing and am going to try to talk my way through the game as much as I can. The world, story and characters are definitely reminding me a lot of Planescape, with heaps of imagination and creativity and a central "mystery" that really could go in any direction. As a spiritual successor I'd say they've nailed it. The interface is a bit busy but works well on console/TV with a "very large" text size option. Also looks like it will have genuine replayability, I've already made a bunch of choices that have me curious to try the alternatives.

Is the text voiced over? I recall Planescape being very... silent, for the most part.

I just remember that I played it for ages and did not have one fight. Had no idea if the combat system was any good or the game fun. Whereas Witcher 3 I've murdered thousands of men displaced by war and made many shekels selling their wooden clubs and bits of goat hide.
