Can anyone recommend a cheap multi region DVD player?|
It doesn't have to have that many features - just hdmi and a remote control really. It's going into a 26" lcd tv, so the sound isn't important as I'll be just using the telly for that. Upscaling would be nice I suppose, but not essential.
Reason I ask, is because I've bought 2 in the past (Toshiba one, around 40 quid, and my latest Samsung 30 quid one has started skipping on everything) and they don't even seem to be up to the task of simply playing films - skipping, stopping, refusing disks etc.
I know you get what you pay for, but what would you recommend for a fairly budget priced multi region player? Doesn't matter what it looks like either

I'm not sure about now, but Yamaha players used to be famously easy to unlock. Pretty decent in general, too.
Ah yes, yamaha, totally forgotten about them. Used to have one too aeons ago.
Is it still straightforward unlocking them? Code list etc?
Hmm, they're a bit pricey.
And lol at Argos' "Full product details" on their basic dvd players -
Now you can enjoy fast or slow playback with sound to monitor sports action or listen to a language study programme.

Aldi are doing an upscaling DVD player at the moment for 25 quid or so here in Ireland, dunno if same where you are but worth a look. I picked up an upscaling player for fifty euros in Tesco about a month ago Toshiba SD 3010KB. Has a hack for region unlock too. Nice if simple bit of kit.
@Apollo - nice one, ta - I'll have a look.
Just seen a Sony multiregion on richer sounds that looks ok. 50 quid
Anyone have a Sony dvpsr760 and can recommend them?
