23rd for Europe. 20th's the US date.

Looks balls-out crazy. Hope it sells as well or as better as 3, but it seems like they're retiring it after this anyhow (it says "the final chapter" in the video).

Because Volition is going to be working on Freespace 3 next.

That's the rumour I'm starting anyway.

I'm only disappointed they haven't called it "Saints Row: Go Fourth and Multiply".

Hmm less than a two year turn around?

Combine that with the fact that they were going to make that expansion for 3 but rolled it into the fourth game and I've a suspicion this is going to be a bit of a half sequel.

I'll reserve judgment but I'm concerned that the relatively quick turnaround and other circumstances with THQ etc. could lead to this sequel not being to the same standard as SR3.

You can kinda tell they don't spend much time on them tbh...

Don't get me wrong, they can be fun, but they're not exactly detailed or complicated games.

I'll happily pay £30 for Saints Row 3.5: "Shut Up And Take My Money" The Expansion Pack.

All valid points but it's worth remembering that they spent time building tools and an engine for 3, most of that won't need to to be significantly altered for this. I hate to bring up GTA in a SR thread but it could be more like Vice City was to GTA 3.

That looks too much like Cackdown to me, which I hated. I think I'll pass on this one.

Good point! I hope it's more like Crackdown, it's one of the best games of the generation :)

You are thinking of "cackdown 2"
The first game is all types of Aces.

As for SR, bring it, love all 3 of the games.

I'm going to play Saints Row the Third! There. Now I've said it I must do it. But not in front of the wife, I'm not sure she'd approve.

Getting full agility on crackdown was one of the best gaming moments I've had! The freedom of the city was amazing. Great game.

Hmmm I don't know, if you add 1 - 2 months of disturbance with the whole THQ saga; we're looking at just over a year and a half of development time. I would be hugely suprised if its as much of a change as even the likes of VC and SA were.

A sequel to the game that had a button dedicated to hitting people in the crotch can only be a good thing.

For those saying the turnaround's a little fast:

This was Enter the Dominatrix, a huge expansion for SRtT, originally. The thing got so big they decided it'd be better as a standalone game.

    And it looks balls-out loony.

A better comparison would be like going from Vice City to San Andreas. Vice City was essentially GTA 3: 80's expansion pack. Not exactly a big upgrade.

That was my point though, I don't expect this to be a big upgrade but like Vice City was to GTA3, it could still be a decent sequel anyway.

Oh I thought you meant that Vice City was a big upgrade my bad. I'm hoping they actually put alot of content in Saints row 4 as it looks exactly like Saints row 3. If not this could be the type of lazy cash in trying to get the last of current gen owner's cash before next gen arrives.

Watched the 7odd min walkthrough just now, and I'm not sure, looks fun but where is the substance. I'm not silly I know playing one of these games is not the same as a narritve driven adventure game, but I don't see how they are going to hang any story to this.
I have loved the series from the off, I would say 2 is the stand out for me, 3 was a lot of fun, but I think with SR IV, they are trying too hard.

Super powers,Mechs (did look fun!) aliens,Dupstep gun (I want a rock gun that goes up to 11) you being the Prez...etc

I'm sure I will play, and enjoy but I feel it will be the first one I rent instead of buying.
