    It reminded me of Q.

@localnotail most of what I've seen of Q has dated horrendously. Or it's funny but then drags on.

Tsk. Young people today have no appreciation of the ineptly absurd. You'll be telling me the Goon Show isn't funny next.

    "he's fallen in the water"
"I know what the time is, I've got it written on a piece of paper".

    Classic stuff.

I want to see It's Deckard on BBC Three by 2015.

It was awful. I get what he was trying to do with it, but he just did it really badly. Just a complete lack of writing talent it seems.
Apparently had quite a big writing team behind it. Makes you wonder why none of them piped up to say "All this material just isn't funny in the slightest" before they started filming it.

I'll let you be my sidekick then. Current working catchprase: "Them's chunky chips!"

Weirdly, I think it suffers from Kevin looking a lot like a paedophile. Even though, arguably, that's his greatest strength. Confusing.

    Best to avoid this then?

I'm the only person who found it funny, apparently. Not just on here. In the universe.

I shall give it a go just for you, isolation is a terrible thing.

If all shows lived and died by their first episodes, we'd have none of the shows we like. I know I've made this point already but you're all idiots.

You know that one you like, the first episode was awful.

Watched most of it on iPlayer, yeah, really wasn't funny. I think someone earlier summed it up best when they said it felt like a kid's sketch show, complete with slightly "wacky" presenter (who's even slightly dressed like a cartoon character).

I'm defiantly going to give it another chance, as their were very, very brief snatches of the Eldon I have come to love, mostly in his delivery of lines during those cut away bits. But I agree that the show didn't feel like it had a sense of direction... which is oddly something Eldon mentioned at the end of the show.

I'd like to think he is doing a Stewart Lee on us and slowly building all the randomness into a single point... although I doubt that's the case here.

First episodes, whilst not always great or representative of what's to come, usually have something to like about them. Kevin was just shit.

To the point that clearly I can't even be arsed to get its name right.

Ah, thank you :) It's ok though, I wouldn't want you to waste 30 minutes of valuable time humouring my peculiar taste for deliberately inept silliness.

Peep Show, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Archer, I'm Alan Partridge. Just a few off the top of my head that had brilliant first episodes.

I really liked Mitchell and Webb, the 70's bawdy hospital sketch alone puts it up there with the best of 'em. :p
Touching Cloth is also a classic, and maybe Now We Know, too.
