Hi chaps. I need to edit a song and am after some software recommendations. Free please. I have Linux as well as windows if that makes any difference.

I've done a reasonable amount of video editing but zero audio.

I'm trying to cut down a song, take the first verse of it, add on the 2nd chorus and hey presto I've got a slimmed down version of the original.

Audacity is one of those proper old skool programs that is now standard kit.

Want to unzip something? Winrar. Want to chop up music? Audacity.

Well, at least it's available on something else than Windows.

On a related note, Ardour just got to version 3. Anyone using it here? I looks like a mightily competent piece of software.

Winrar? Eww. How very last decade! 7-Zip's where it's at. :)

Too bad winrar only works on windows, so it doesn't really work.
