Higgins gave the game away by replying in quick succession with the old @ thing...

That and by being a bit silly.

@Deckard1 Yes, there's more than one person who doesn't like sports, wars and Hollywood productions where story and character development takes priority over gameplay.

    France: 4.20%
    UK: 3.08%

@BartonFink I could create this topic, but before I created this one I tried to create another, and I just ended up at a "forbidden" link/page.

Could someone please explain why? Can't you include image and YouTube links?

I don't know, ignoring facts, logic and reason is a very Higginslike trait.

Japanese and French people do like sports games. You wouldn't believe the number of baseball games released in Japan.

The Wii U isn't selling notably worse in the UK compared to other European Countries.

COD and FIFA are very popular mainstream games, available everywhere. They're not selling again and again to the same customers, rather a broad range of people, some bought the last game, some never played COD or FIFA before, some haven't bought a COD or FIFA for years.

This nation of bloodthirsty sports fanatics who don't buy any other games, especially not Nintendo ones is all in your head.

Yes, let's make every single game a cinematic Uncharted clone, great idea.
Well Uncharted clones are certainly less prevalent than Zelda clones, so wouldn't another standard Zelda outing, even though it actually is Zelda, be even less palatable from a gameplay diversity perspective?

I mean, clearly Nintendo aren't going to make a cinematic, story-driven Zelda game, but I dare say it'd actually be far more interesting if they did.

@Gambit1977 Developed how? New players every year in FIFA and a new graphics engine in CoD? Please.

Both Fifa 12 and 13 introduced new gameplay mechanics that significantly changed the way the games play.

And as for CoD... do you honestly think that if Nintendo could release a new Mario title every year and have it produce over a billion dollars in revenue, they wouldn't? They've got too much artistic integrity perhaps?

But we get it. It's not Nintendo's fault their new hardware is failing, it's entirely the consumers' fault. Philistines!

@Aretak Yeah, it's more interesting when you play because of the story and cinematics rather than because of interesting gameplay and design.

For what it's worth, I don't think it's failing. It may be failing at specific things that people would like it to do though, so those people don't want one. That's fair enough :)

The OP sort of has a point, gaming tastes in France and the UK do differ but of course it's not as he portrays it, the French do play FPS games, Sports Games etc. it's just that Japanese games and Nintendo are more popular there than in the UK and have been for a long time.

@Jazzassin "Significantly"? LOL. I played FIFA 12 and there was no significant change compared to all other footy games out there. But I understand if footy fans really notice the smallest details and make them into huge improvements.

I can say the same about Mario. There are just small changes in the New Super Mario series, but for die hard fans these changes are huge.

CoD is popular because it's based on a popular theme - war. It's very well done too, but so are many other games which doesn't even come close to the sales of CoD.

And as I've said the reason Wii U is failing is first and foremost because a lack of games.

@BartonFink Just before I created this thread. It had image links and a YouTube link in it, but no bad words. But no matter how many times I tried, I just ended up at "forbidden".

Then I created this thread without trouble.

Give us the gist of this thread you are so desperate to create. Does it contain the words "classic", "gen", "top" and "zelda" at any point?

Probably down to EG not liking the content type of the images. What were they jpg, png? No paranoia required, keep it simple when creating the thread and follow up with images etc.

@nickthegun Not at all. It's not a console war thread or "my taste is better than yours".

    It was about P.N.03.
