    I still find it weird a game owned by Microsoft is being launched on steam surely they'd want it on the windows 8 store?

    I think they actually want people to buy it.

    This sort of thing is just lazy game devving.

    Why not make a new AoE.

    @THFourteen
    Because perfection already exists. Just needs an HD coat of paint and active online servers.

    2 is pretty much perfection. Although The Koreans were over-powered thanks to the enhanced range of their towers and bombardiers.

    You can get a mod for aoe2 age of conquerors that let's you use any widescreen Res (I play in 1080p)
    and then use gameranger to play online games which works amazing, is free and has a large active community, I still play it now and then as it is still by far the best rts game for me.
    Also Korea are not overpowered at all in the 1.0c patch , they are good for no rush games only.
    The game is so finely balanced most online games are played random civ and I don't care which civ i get as I love them all.
    There are also lots of custom maps , the ones called cba are great for fast instant action and are quite addictive.
    Funny how I have all these new games and I would rather play this still, total master piece of a game.

    Yeah i had this patch and used to play lan with friends from Uni. Was ace fun. Had 3v3 and 4v4 matches quite regularly.

    Great game but price seems a bit steep, think I may have to try and hold out for the summer sale.

    Yeah it seems really weird - it's exclusively on steam too.

    I see that Hidden Path - makers of Defense Grid, have been involved with this enhanced version too.
