    here they are!

Used to enjoy using the odd cheat code back in the day, disappointed that no-one really uses them these days.

Pretty sure EA would find a way to charge for a cheat code anyway....... :champ:

    Up...Down...Left...Right....

    Crap list.

No mention of C64 games like CJ's Elephant Antics with the cheatcode "ITCHY ARSEHOLES" or Monty On The Run with "IWANTTOCHEAT" and the response from the game "YESSUM BOSS!!!".

No mention of the Amiga Alien Breed "BEWARE ALIENS SPADGE HAS DROPPED ONE", "THE IRAQIS MADE THE WEAPONS" or "BLIMEY GUVNOR LOOK AT THE SIZE OF HIS JOHN THOMAS".

No mention of the Amiga version of Sleepwalker's referencing Ministry's Jesus Built My Hotrod with the cheat code "dingadingdangmydangalonglinglong".

Too Sega and Nintendo centric for my liking.

GTA San Andreas: There was a cheat that made cars weightless - people too I think? - and you could punch them and they'd go floating off.

In Jedi Academy you could spawn any character in the game, as well as some who didn't officialy appear, and it was great getting Luke Skywalker to chop up a few Reborn, or altering your FF tag so you could fight him, him and Kyle and legions of Jedi etc etc.

It is a shit list even for SNES and MD games.

IIRC you had to do a cheat to do the same player vs each other on the first SNES SF2?

Not a single mention of Doom. What a fucking awful article, thrown together in a hurry from someone who couldn't even be bothered to properly source pictures. The NBA Jam remake representing the original? Sonic 2 fan art? Listing GTA 3 as "PS3"? Mortal "Combat"?

Took me 10 years to realise it was just UDLR A+Start.

You have to do a cheat to let you get it up to arcade speed on SF2 turbo, for some reason. Up, down, left, right, y, b, x, a.

    No Carmageddon?

To get to the dev mode and change nearly everything in the game you had to enter 'IBETYOUWONTPRINTCUNT' while in a race.

Funny, not many magazines included that one.

    This signature intentionally left blank.

The Ten Pints cheat on Shadow of the Beast 2 was the best cheat ever as it actually made it possible to get through the game. It was nigh on impossible otherwise iirc.

    Marks Team

The cheat for infinite cash on Syndicate on the Amiga. Very appropriate given my name.

I seem to recall there were Doom cheats that killed you in Quake or something... Was it IDDQD that did that? or IDKFA?

    I'm a grumpy bastard.

Same with NNC-1701, the only thing that made SWIV possible.

Took me years to realise the relevance.

Conkers Bad Fur Day had some good ones most likely purloined from the Viz Profanisaurus. Stuff like "SPANIELSEARS", "DUTCHOVEN", and "FRIEDEGGSONANIRONINGBOARD".

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

The only one i ever actually used regularly was in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. "Oblivion" unlocked every weapon, and considering the weapons were best part of that game well it had to be done.

Known as 'Sharzam' in 98.5% of games

I've always remembered "theonlyneatthingtodo" from Back To The Future 2, I had no idea what it meant until today (it's a sci-fi novella).

    BAAANG!!!!! EXPLOTION!!!!!

I remember using a level skip on the first Turok, it was nice touring the different types of Fog.

Not a cheat mode as such but changing all the values of the cars in GTA3 led to some very amusing moments including driving up walls and making cars so fast that they were pretty much impossible to control. Oh and also causing cars to launch themselves out of the game world. Many hours of amusement.

You are a factory of sadness.

Yeah, without the Doom cheats this list is shit.

    Also - Mortal Combat.

I'm sure that Mortal Kombat one is wrong. I remember it being "D,U,L,L,A,R,D" as for the Amiga blood code you had to type DULLARDCHEAT four times on the same code screen.

I remember Brian Lara Cricket on the PS1. You could make the ball a beach ball and make the stands and outfield a beach.

In "Count Duckula: No Sax Please, We're Egyptian" on the ZX Spectrum, if you held down EVERY key on the keyboard on the menu screen then the Duckula sprite will be replaced with a bottle of Chocolate Milk.
